There would be a real use for quickfires if it did work.

my $0.015 is that if you do choose to change them, that you go with nerfing first, then based on feedback from the nerfed version, try removing them.

well, i would say that this poll clearly refutes that most people want to remove them... i would say MOST people want to keep them, and at least 28% think they should be nerfed

Would this be a hard code change?

Actually its more like 50% think they are too powerful when you add the people that want it removed plus the people that just want it nerfed
But yeah I'm a bit surprised so many people are saying keep it as is, and clearly most want it to stay around in some form.

I think thats largely because it's seen as a come-back weapon. What it means is that if an incompetent commander with an incompetent team somehow manage to get to the stage where they can get tp2/xrm, then all it takes is one competent person to do the tp2 drop. (also known as the bios sup come-back)

In my opinion, XRM is mostly a problem in that BIOS has access to it to easily.
Change the prerequisites for XRM into something that delays BIOS a bit more and you will have managed (my suggestion? Heavy Bomber.).
Getting XRM Hvy bombers for all other factions (except maybe TF) is quite... difficult.
(Also, to analogyze [and stirr the pot some], I think Exp is fine as well, except for IC free ships, but that's another thread).

How about lowering the rack size from 4 XRM to 1?

During ACS, the amount of times I had a 3+hour game is unreal. I was SUP for most of them and XRM lost me the game, I mean @#(!, we dropped about 7 TP2 probes and most people went to the wrong TP or didn't rip in at all, eventually they stole the TP and did it back to us. And we couldn't defend against their ONE.
Even in the hands of newbs the XRM can fail, and as a commander, I don't buy XRM ever anymore because I think most of my team are retarded and i'd rather get something else.
Although this is the opisite to what you guys are saying, I think TP2 is too complicated for the masses and I don't rely on it at all since I think they will fail.
Faith in your team my friends.
TL:DR? XRM is @#(! anyway, get rid.

The number of people that want it to stay in some form is significantly larger then those that want it removed entirely. Please respect community wishes and keep xrm!
