As you can see from these varied responses, there are some big asshats here and some pretty cool folks -- kind of like real life.

My best advice is to keep at it if you like the game play. See someone sympathetic to your post -- don't be afraid to PM them in a game.

My advice to join a game -- wait for the commander and a couple of vets to join one team or the other. Pick a team that has a higher total rank (number after team name) and join it. If a comm asks you to join the other team, try to do so. If comm on other team won't accept -- let first comm know. Also, hit the ~qy voice chat command. Sometimes the comm is just busy and does not see you.

This also happens to vets, as some comms try to keep teams fairly balanced and accpepting a higher ranking vet would unbalance them.

Pook (our fearless balancing leader) is trying to implement a system that involves auto balancing which will (hopefully) reduce this problem. However, balanced games are this community's biggest challenge.

We also have some folks who fear change -- so be patient. And keep at it.

If all else fails, find an @alleg and let them know. Failing that, private message tigereye here and tell him -- and post in the forums about your experience.

In all cases, keep playing -- you will lose the (0) soon enough and life gets easier.

i believe you're a good person, guitar, especially in this thread. this seriously needs to stop though. jib, just deal with it, you are preaching to the mini3's that are coming for you. plus there is no possible way to get all of the 17,000+ players to read this. just drop it

Finger is a good guy. Get on TS and speak with him for lots of good info /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Some of us are just jaded of late posting the same thing over and over again in the rehash of an old thread. It just gets tiring sometimes. So, some of us take breaks. Like me.

Yeah, that's what I just do- join the team with the higher number, if the opportunity presents itself. Everyone wants to have fun AND win. I do /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" /> And I sure as hell don't want to be a burden to my teammates.

Generally, I know that the community is pretty friendly and wants the game to grow. It's meeting that bad apples that make newbie life ... interesting. Well, that's it from me. I think I'll install TS on my rig, though I doubt I'll use it anytime soon - my family loves peace and quiet, and sound travels very well in the house /ninja.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ninja:" border="0" alt="ninja.gif" />

I hope I get to fly with you guys soon.

The onlt problem with the response of "Get on TS" is that the game in question probably had nobody on TS. A 5v5 in the mid afternoon Euro time will have nobody on TS. TS is great when there's a culture of everyone using it, but useless when there isn't.

(This is all assuming that the post was made straight after the game of course).

Suggestion: headset with microphone ~$30. You can then turn off the speakers so that you won't drown out the household. Added bonus: those random interruptions of "Daddy! Timmy just hit me!" or "Honey, I was just thinking about the drapes..." drop to near zero. They learn that you can't hear them, so they have to get up from wherever they are to interrupt you. If it takes extra effort to get your attention, the frequency of interruption decreases drastically. Priceless. /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

all i hear is blah blah blah blah.

i been readin 'bout this same subject the whole time i been here and seen all kinds of ideas fly 'round to fix it to no avail, to the point i now believe it is human nature and can never be solved. This is after all a game of war and those that excel in it are very often not the fluffy nice ppl you'll find elsewhere.

personally, the only way i found to learn things when i was a noob/voob (which many say i still am lol) was to swallow my pride, filter out the crap, and be left with the diamonds formed from the pressure. They pretty. ooooooh, shiny.

Do you really have to ask?
