Quoting hunter... Well when someone who is pretty well known as a regularly dimwit. Then that person is added to the CC team and changes something so minor and stupid. When there is other issues that are more pressing then it. But hey what the hell. Guess we can wait another 6 months for CC12.

Look I know I am not adding any help here. I am just frustrated because this game has been going down hill in gameplay etc. for awhile then I see this. So yes I will say how I feel about the person that I feel is responseable for adding to what is more often stupidty around here now.
--------------------------------------------------------------

Just one sentence about this: Get on CC team and work your ass off instead of plain hurling @#(! at random. Thanks.
-sing- Just always look on the bright side of life -whistle, bow to monty python's Life of Brian-

Heyoka wrote:QUOTE (Heyoka @ Jan 20 2011, 07:33 AM) I think if the community were made more aware of changes that are proposed to be made within the core, we would avoid this kind of controversy. Not to say there wouldn't be any controversy, that's naive to think, but it would cut down on.

We have tons of ideas posted, many that people like and want to see, we've also been polled about ideas and so on, yet it feels like very few community ideas make it into the core.

The Gauss change felt a bit like a slap in the face ("We REALLY don't give a @#(! what anybody wants").

Now I know there are more than a few community ideas that made it in, in some way or another.

Personally I feel like this isn't six months worth of core changes. This feels like a last second mish-mash of "oh @#(! we need to update the core!".

Six months should have rendered more than this. I understand that all devs are volunteers and as such development cannot be reliably steady, but come on. Six months?!
CC team entered limbo when Spideycw got into personal life instead of game life. Then after a few months he stepped down and a replacement was found. Only 1 month was spent on CC_11 and that includes the forming of the new dreg models and getting the team into shape.

the CC team now has a few people who are able to use ICE (which they had none after the team reset) and have most of the loose ends read and decided on.

The gauss change I'm guessing was, yes, a last minute "while i'm in here lets..." which prob isn't the best way to treat a CC but on the same stroke this game isn't just about balance but how fun the game is. And Guass the way it was, was no fun for the other team at all as it was impossible to miss with (a 0 playing with KB would blow up brood in a hvy for example). Yeah yeah I know "if GT get that far its your fault" blah blah, but if you have a commander who is dicking about with GT just to get gauss but there are enough pig headed souls on the other team, you get a 2 hour drag feast of boring gameplay.

One of the concepts of the XC is to not only make it more dynamic for squad play, but try to stamp out the "lets sit back and tech up" mentality that 50% of alleg seems to be.
I decided to relive the days gone by in my new blog.

Posts moved to rants.

If you want to discuss the running of the CC team - go do it in Rants. Quit whining about people whining here too.

This thread is about the changes only - next person to whine about the decision process in this thread will get mod preview off me.

Well then I commend the cc team on a very productive month for the models! If I could program or anything I would help to the best of my abilities. But alas I can not. So I help in the only other way I can.

By playing this game, and providing criticism. People hate to be criticized but it's really the only way to learn and progress.

But I can't post any further because it apparently touches on a forbidden topic.

very nice work CC Devs in such a short time!

Constructive critizism and feedback is always welcome in a civil conversation.

Personal attacks are NOT.

Starting out posts, " You are $#@!ing idiot" isn't what they are looking for.

So let's make core changes based on a team's refusal to resign when they should.
You can apply that fail-logic to any scenario.
Let's nerf mini3 because the opposing team might choose to get whored instead of resigning.
I have decided that Adept and Doorjam are lovers IRL.

You're always welcome to give feedback as BV said man, just make sure (as bv said again) that it isn't direct insults. Just say "[this is what I think]" which could well be "I THINK THIS BLOWS BIG DONKEY NUTS" well, cool beans. You're not insulting anyone, you're stating your opinion :P

A commander is not obligated to finish a game. A team is also not obligated to resign when getting whored. If they would rather get whored indefinitely instead of resigning, then they will do that.

stop with the edit-responses

A commander IS OBLIGATED to finish a game. He is there to WIN games not to prolong them. Are you trying to be Grav the 2nd?

edit: I only edited my response since you edited what I responded too.
