We have a long history of losing against squads before we beat them. Our turnout doesn't seem to improve unless we've been whooped recently. Old habits, and all.spideycw wrote:QUOTE (spideycw @ Sep 13 2009, 04:46 PM) why did rt turn out so few? usually they hit 18 or so easy
Some people *really* love pwning "the new kids" for laughs. RT just doesn't generally recruit people like that.Malicious Wraith wrote:QUOTE (Malicious Wraith @ Sep 14 2009, 03:53 PM) I don't understand why DSM is the squad to beat.

WRONG IDEA.
Just get in there and take your licks and try to make sure your squad doesn't turn on itself in the meantime.
Losing isn't THAT freaking bad, even when done consistently.
I also recommend highly against having multi-person "objective drills". I've never seen those work out well, either when we did them, when sf did them or when anyone else talked about them.
Just play games and always back each other up in public.
MW: Think about it this way, we all want to see just how good you are for ourselves, so we sign on to whup on you a bit. Clearly no one's beat you down yet, so you just need a harder hammer! That's where spidey and crew come in. If you beat SysX, PK will be there to see what we can do
It's not a sign of "we hate you raaar!" but rather "Is this squad for real?" The constant us playing as hard as we can against you and seeing your reaction lets us know if you're for real or not. Looks like you guys ARE for real, but you never know, the morale of a squad could be low enough that a crushing defeat splinters it.
(I doubt it though, I honestly can't wait to see you guys in the tourney because your roster looks decent and you've had good showings at squadgames)

Don't find fault, find a remedy; anybody can complain.

I do say this weekends match is going to be the most interesting so far, for DSM and the community
I look forward to the post-game thread.

No one in the history of Allegiance has put together a streak like XT did in 2006-2007. SysX is the squad to beat today. ACE was the squad to beat when we ended XT's streak and were on a streak of our own. PK was the squad to beat for much of 2008. The point is these things have an ebb and flow to them.
