Well I decided to find out more about the site, as there are many indy (and often free games) that I like there.

Among other things I was boring stats and advertising information... here's their hits per month...

"MPOGD receives 5.3 million page displays per month and 695,000 unique visitors per month."

I checked with a company that does advertise at their site, and surprisingly it's been worth the semi-outrageous fees they charge ($250-$700 per month for ad banners). Not that I'm looking at advertising at those rates, just the fact that these indy games are getting decent clicks from their impressions.

It's probably really worthwhile to actually get the #1 spot this month, it'll give us some nice exposure.

Mind you, I don't know if this community can put together the votes to make us #1, if we try it might happen though.

#11 Allegiance 198 @ 2.29%

Well, I for one don't like the idea of Allegiance ads. Reaching the top spot will be advertisement enough (as seen here).

Also note: "All playable games listed are capable of winning this award although a game can win the award only once a year (starting 2002)."

Perhaps we could make this topic a sticky for easy reference until the voting is over?

I'd say it gets enough bumps not to get lost.

Bump. One more

We'll never make it this month. Perhaps we could request the admins to adjust the list to top 10?

...it might be worth a message on ASGS, e.g., We're trying to get a month's free advertising on XYZ site. Please vote to make Allegiance #1. You can vote once per day [insert web addy].

Ive just voted again and we are number #10 still.

I have eventually been able to vote for another game in the player rating spot, I gave it a six thus putting us in second. Will someone please vote a 6 for the hockey game that is number 1 as it will give us the top player rating slot.

Yeah, voting by proxy is shady enough. You don't have to give a bad rating to another game - that's just taking it too far IMO.
