That'd go down like a lead balloon in my house...

Best pointer utility ever.
On the vertical mice above, my main issue with those is that I imagine that the trigger action of clicking with the mouse would cause your hand to jerk slightly, and move the pointer.

That mouse has a tumor.

As for a mousepad, I use a minimal cost pad. Works just fine. I didn't buy something fancy or expensive, just a plain, solid colour mousepad. It feels like a felt top on a foam pad.

as for vertical stuff....
the mouse, wouldn't that use more of the large arm muscles to use instead of the wrist -> less control as you get control from the finer muscles, not the big ones used for large movements.
it did look more comfortable though.
vertical keyboard?
nah, you can only access half of it with one hand, i use the whole of my keyboard with one hand when playing alleg

Probably. I haven't actually used one. I currently control my mouse with thumb and pinky, mostly, so I'm not sure how well it would work for me anyways. But I think the concept is sound. Fine-point control muscles are made by usage more than anything else (try using your off-hand for normal tasks), so if you regularly used your full arm for fine-point control, it would adapt to provide it.

Yeah, it'd be hard to adapt to, and wouldn't work at all for mouse+keyboard gaming where you need to type (I usually leave one hand on the mouse and type single-handed for short messages), but in the end it would offer some decent benefits for normal keyboard usage (like forum-whoring), and if you could condense your "needed" buttons to half the keyboard, and put the rest in the no-man's land middle zone, it would be pretty awesome combined with TS (which obviates most of the need to type in anything on the keyboard).

That microsoft trackball sucks, the logitech trackball has a better matched ball to hole sizing, the microsoft one is not smooth, I use the trackman wheel.

I absolutely love my XTrac. Mouse has the prefect amount of glide and the tracking is amazing. It’s a hybrid pad that combines cloth and plastic - easily the best one I’ve ever used. And it’s super-portable.
