You're right. Less guns = less people getting shot is the thing I focus on. Violent crime is a question of social safetynets, employment, decent schools... and a matter for the police rather than for armed citizens.

As long as the police force is held strictly accountabe and under public scrutiny I'm perfectly happy with this arrangement.

It's not. The police force in general is incredibly corrupt. Whenever they do wrong they sweep it under the rug. and until very recently (last couple months) it's been illegal in some states to make a video recording of police so they can be held accountable for anything.

I know Masta, that was a reference to northern Europe. I can totally understand why you guys in the states distrust and even hate the po-po.

And another major reason why Americans don't won't surrender their guns. The police do a lousy job of protecting anyone. They can't even protect us from themselves.

I like dome and duckies points.

Owning a firearm is legal here. People still shoot and the rifle clubs still are full on weekends. We still have. Shootings but not mass shooting. If the uss sshould change anything, its stricter control on automatic longarms and pistols. Autoloading magnifies the problem and wackjobs don't find bolt action firearms cool for being $#@!tards

Firearms training should be mandated for everyone in the US. At least that way when someone wants to shoot someone they don't end up killing like 15 others on accident.

Doesn't appear to have worked for the US military.

True. But that's not lack of technical skill, more lack of giving a $#@!, I think.
