why would these need to take place instead of sgs? They could be a few back to back after them or just whenever

I think you overestimate the logistical capabilities of our game scheduling

Actually I'm reconsidering whether the Squad League should be a thing, pending consultation with the OC due to SG turnouts throughout the year (but particularly in the past couple of months).

Might be more productive for me and the community to invest my time in things such as the comm tourney or other shenanigans.

As a side note: Help with the Events Zone is greatly appreciated, are you volunteering to throw in your lot, Dome? :) Things can be arranged :P

Dragging this out over months and on the same spidey damn day as every other event ever done is going to kill it in a few weeks. Am I the only one with a memory of past events?

vogue wrote:QUOTE (vogue @ Dec 8 2011, 01:22 AM) since when do people listen to back seat comms, only cases i've seen are complete newbies and they don't know any better
If someone doesn't listen to me I often mutiny or just switch teams. Mastametz has experienced this several times.

Broodwich wrote:QUOTE (Broodwich @ Dec 8 2011, 01:43 AM) I think what spidey is referring to is the last alleg wars thing where there were supposed to be multiple separate teams with individual commanders etc and you would have to rely on not only your teams but your commanders to be evenly balanced out or whatever. Instead what happened was aarm got all his teams on the same ts channel and pretty much told everyone what to do. It's not like he was cheating or anything, but it kinda broke the spirit of what was envisioned.
This is EXACTLY what I was thinking. Good god was that such a $#@!up. You'd have someone like vogue commanding against Zwitter but the whole time Aarm would be in command from behind the scenes. I also remember one game where they had some noob comm (Fedman) and they mutiny booted him and had someone else take command against some scrub. Grav is also known for this but a lot of his ideas are bad ones so it doesn't matter as much but you could still very easily have someone backseat a team to victory.
Cookie Monster wrote:QUOTE (Cookie Monster @ Dec 8 2011, 03:48 AM) Spidey has YET to provide me with a worthy adversary list for events (you lazy eight-legged bum!) so this should tie in nicely with the tournament if he comes up with one.
I provided that to you 3 weeks ago or so at least. Around whenever I bumped the OC topic

A LIST WITH ONLY YOUR NAME ON IT DOES NOT COUNT.

O ya, thanks

I have to say picking a day and trying to go with things happening on that day only isn't going to end well (probably). Maybe have a couple of games throughout the week and another on one of the weekend days?
