Lawson's videos you mean?

QUOTE Thanks for working on this btw, good stuff  [/quote]

This is the one I had in mind: Constuctor Fight

Switch to f3 (and zoom in) after you drop the first mines, that would show the mines cloud really nicely and make your point about dropping while back trusting even more clear. You can show a bad (too close) drop for comparison purpose too.

Also (unless you think that’ll be adding too much complexity) you might want to show how to keep an eye on the mine field degeneration and drop only when the field is almost out, instead of just dropping one after the other, therefore lengthening the time a single scout can keep the aleph mined.

Oh, and talk a little slower :P
I'll keep this in mind for the next one, but I'm not filming prox again. This one covers the basics, and that's all that matters.

QUOTE For the other videos, those with a lot more action, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to have part of it slowed down (if you know how to do that of course). I saw a training video on youtube, which now I can’t find for the life of mine, that used this technique: describe what’s going on in slow motion, rewind, replay at normal speed without narration. I know how to do all my video editing. I'm using slow-mo, panning, zooming, freeze-frames, highlighting certain areas of the screen, etc.

Oh what I wouldn't give to have that video in 1024 x 768 Fraps and with the new TF models. That is some sweet work, spoiled by the low resolution recording

Next time I fly TF and my team pushes a tech-con to the same rock as an enemy tech-con, I'll film it.

Also, I disagree for the most part with spreading your prox out over time. Early game, against basic figs, light ints, and when you don't have reinforcements handy - sure, its effective. But when rather than flying circles, you and another scout could alternate reloading and being at the aleph, and you need more than 1-1.5 proxpacks to pod a heavy int or adv. fig, just keep dropping.

https://docs.google.com/document/edit?i ... y=CMH3qNUO

Explanation of signature, scan ranges, things which affect signatures, and the basics of staying far enough from the enemy that you won't be eyed.

It needs a lot of work. Please read and edit as necessary.

Note that I'm also working on a table which will list the base scan ranges (no Sup GAs) taking faction modifiers into account for all ships and bases in the game. I'll publish it when I'm done with it.
