We at SysX are working to correct this - however - I promise nothing!Raveen wrote:QUOTE (Raveen @ Oct 7 2009, 08:02 AM) But Gui, that contraddicts Spidey's First Law (all the retards are mostly in one squad (SysX)). How do you explain this break in the laws of physics?

I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

My apologies.
Huh? This thread confuses me, as it seems to assume that anything at all about the tech tree is taught in Cadet - the only reason I know that minis are researched by exp are because they're in the int's default loadout and not in the fig's, and I certainly don't know which levels of mini are researched by regular exp and which ones are research by adv exp, let alone the details of how tech stealing works. Or is that something that's only in Cadet II? Man, I can't wait for the next session of Cadet II three months from now to teach me all this basic, essential knowledge of the game that you guys seem to think everybody should know! It's not like I blame Bass for being confused, as it took me a couple of minutes to figure out exactly what was wrong and what was right just from that chatlog, let alone what people were laughing at him for.

You're also new, so you're allowed to not know stuff.
Even then though, the real problem isn't ignorance (there is tons of stuff that I don't know). The problem is resistance to learning

He's squaded (to a squad that has players that crow and are loud targets) and your not. He's been here long then you have too. Dont worry about it. He should.

You'll learn it in cadet 2. Well, I mean, you won't because you already know it, but I promise you that cadet2 gets more into the tech tree and how it works. In fact, there's definitely a major part about which tech you get to keep in what circumstances!Jimen wrote:QUOTE (Jimen @ Oct 7 2009, 08:14 AM) Huh? (hint: you get to use any part you have the techbase for and have researched/captured, and you always get the benefits of GAs you have researched. The only exception to this is Belters, which can use guns that they do NOT have the techbase for)

Ok, look, here's why people are laughing at him.
Imagine you just got here, and you're like, "How come I can't mount minigun on my fighters?" Someone chuckles and corrects you, saying that miniguns are for interceptors not fighters. Now you start calling them a retard, saying that "no, in fact, miniguns go on fighters." At this point they're just going to make fun of you because a) you're wrong and b) you're being obstinate about it. It's not that this is "basic" information, it's more that it's information that's readily available, and that they tried to give to him, but he refused to have it.
Imagine if some cadet was reading in the cadet forums, and then posted a big, long post to the effect of "Actually, Scouts have terrible range, and you should never probe!" And then continued arguing his point.

Don't find fault, find a remedy; anybody can complain.

When it comes to you and your squad I'll gladly ridicule and mock you until the sun comes up. And then when it goes down, I'll Molotov cocktail your houses so we can continue the mockery party by firelight.Shautsky wrote:QUOTE (Shautsky @ Oct 7 2009, 11:28 AM) Thank you for clarifying that mockery and ridicule are acceptable.

Mockery and ridicule are one of the staples of this game, Frag.Shautsky wrote:QUOTE (Shautsky @ Oct 7 2009, 11:28 AM) Thank you for clarifying that mockery and ridicule are acceptable.

If you have problems with posts/people - Report them to the admins.
Mockery of people is acceptable. It is everywhere where there is fair comment. there is mockery in media shows on the television, in comment pieces in the newspapers, in magazines etc.
It's acceptable to an extent in my office workplace.
It crosses the line when it's unjustified and/or offensive/prejudiced. I see nothing in this thread that crosses that line.
Deal with it.
