They are carefully cacluated by me opening the squad page and knowing how to count. Try counting how may people in your squad @ACE was thier first squad then give me the numbers please
MadAccountant wrote:QUOTE (MadAccountant @ Jun 26 2008, 11:41 AM) For ACE 63% of our playerbase are from other squads while the rest were either from cadet or unaffiliated (based on all 63 players). Most of the squadded players came from SysX (14), XT (12) and RT (7), over half our roster. Very little from the other squads. Draw your own conclusions.
Ahh I thought you were talking about my op not my response to Snack. Apperantly I need to be clearer that my 95% number was just an exaggeration to show what a larger number it was compared to the members of say @RT or @BS that go from @ACE/@PK/@XT/@SYSX
I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

Ramaglor wrote:QUOTE (Ramaglor @ Jun 26 2008, 03:37 PM) Well there is one way that might do it:
when a squad's active players reach a total HELO that was in the top 2 or 3 highest total HELO of all squads, they are no longer allowed to recruit.
edit: of course, when they are no longer having the highest HELO they can recruit again.
No for 2 reasons:
1 - HELO is broken.
2 - You will have players losing games on purpose to drop their squad's total HELO. This leads to more of (1).

The last time it was perceived to be an issue was when RT first reached 50 players. Pook told us to stop recruiting which we did once we asked for the Cadet rules to be changed to allow us to.
BS now has 71 players.
That niggles slightly even if the community is larger these days.
Spidey: Can't think of a reason I'd need to know anything
I think there is also one big elephant in the room noone is really looking at. We tiptoe around the subject but never really put our foot down.
There is also an aspect of squad culture within the squad. It's not just about "fit" but it's about how the squad conducts itself or acts characteristically to people within the squad. People will leave if they see that the squad is:
* acting irrationally/unfairly
* being too dramatic
* fosters an unhealthy environment that does not supports it's players
* bashing it's own players (see above)
* intolerant and/or has a hard time forgiving mistakes
* has players that are not on the same page as the overall culture of the squad, or has a culture that is vague or that noone understands
* changing to a culture that players do not like
As opposed to looking for reasons why other squads are "stealing" players, I think you need to address why your players are leaving. ACE generally does not solicit players, they all come to us. They come because they're fed up with this, that, or the other thing happening from their squad. In a certain sense, winning SGs is probably a secondary goal. Lots of guys come to us just wanting to fly and not be involved in any sort of drama.
So I think before anyone starts blaming the top squads for claiming the good pilots, I think you need to look at your retention and why if you are hemmorhaging pilots. I think you need to look inwardly and do the soul searching to find solutions to your problem. If you foster a healthy environment, I'm sure it would make it more attractive for others to join or come back. If you don't, well I don't see why anything would change. A healthy squad culture doesn't mean you can't still be aggressive or competitive. Any squad in the middle that feels like they keep losing their pilots need to ask themselves "What have I done to foster a good environment for my team?" If people keep leaving, then you didn't answer the question correctly.

That´s easy. Just join BS, we could need a top-comander for squadgames. Also any other great comander, who wants to comand squadgames on a regular basis, is welcome.
