Grats Belgium!
$@@!ing circle runners on defense. Great game though, really. We gave it a good run.

The US defence was pretty poor but Howard played super amazing. Was great burst of energy from US in 2nd part of Extra Time though, they really gave everything even though they had an early sub.

I'd just like to point out to everyone that Tim Howard is now a meme

All credit to the Americans for their part in a fantastic game. I was worn out just watching it. They are being mentioned a lot in comparison with the English team - the desire, effort & commitment between the two teams was incomparable.

For a team who really wasn't trying though, look no further than the French against the Germans yesterday. It was 1940 all over again.

I'm expecting clint to be posting any day now a witty retort that will be lost in translation.

England has been overestimated for years, I really wonder how they qualified.

On the other hand U.S. and also Costa Rica have impressed me.

The Americans are a little bit behind in this sport. Not as much falling to the ground wincing in faked pain for 4 minutes at a time, then jumping up and playing as soon as a whistle blows as some of the other more elite global teams.

They need to hire some whinier players, possibly go recruiting from Hollywood. Even the best divers of the world are still unconvincing of real injuries 98% of the time, making that one case where someone has a vertebrae snapped an un-cared-for activity in the field. The drama unfolds as that player looks less in pain than the player who wasn't even touched and just crumpled to the ground (which one? See: a dozen times a game) after the wind hit him and/or he tripped over the paint markings on the ground.

My suggestions are to go to a cancer ward to try and acquire players with more frailty, although going after anemic vegan types with severe calcium deficiencies might be a good start too. You really need to sell it to be a world champion, and this is.. the World Cup!

Actually, not true! source
QUOTE According to the Wall Street Journal, only six teams from the 32 in the group stage flopped more than US. The Americans suffered 12 "injuries" and chalked up six minutes, 24 seconds of "writhing time".[/quote]
