Bout 5 years ago I remember, very specifically, thinking and saying that Imago was a $#@!ing moron. He denied this and insisted he wasn't, because he was a dev or some @#(!, and that they even named a ship after him (so?).

I just feel the need to point out that I am now entirely justified in that observation.

I just don't care anymore, because you always say it works, so it has to work.

I just gave up telling you again and again:
Disable FAZ beta in-game AU and push all beta files via ASGS into dev folder.

People keep sayng that he didn't fix the hole, but it's not like we were paying him to do so, and no one else fixed it either.

Now, was this a hole that he found and then told nobody about?

As opposed to the official R6 beta which I'm sure doesn't have any Imago-code at all in it, right? I mean, sure, I certainly wouldn't download any exe provided by non-official sources in the wake of Imago's extremely public break with the community and the ensuing wave of malicious behavior, but let's not pretend like he's got the devil's touch or something

QUOTE (Orion)Imago knew about the hole IN THE OPEN SOURCE LOBBY code, and I guess since he wasnt smart enough to plug the hole, he decided to exploit it.[/quote]

I also like how it's solely Imago's fault that the loopholes were never fixed, because all of a sudden he is the only person who could possibly ever fix a bug in the open source Alleg code. Sure, he shares in the responsibility, and he's clearly aware of the bug since he's been actively exploiting it. But hey, that's the magic of open source: bugs are on display for everybody to see, and anyone with the ability to can fix them (or exploit them!), so even if one or two devs flake out or go rogue the project can continue apace and there's never any bottlenecks because anyone can work on anything!

If people are taking Imago's ship away from him can I have it?

<--- Requires a ship.

No, it's a hole someone told him about months ago, but instead of fixing it he decided to exploit it.. all the while complaining about the security system which could do nothing to prevent this sort of attack anyway since it's outside the scope of the security system and inside the scope of the allegiance dev team which he was a member of at the time.

I wasn't saying it was his responsibility to fix, merely that he is being a hypocrite for demanding ASGS be replaced because it's so insecure while simultaneously exploiting a hole he intentionally left open which is outside of the scope which ASGS protects.

I agree it's unfair to claim it was Imago's sole responsibility to fix it, but he crossed the line when he started actually *exploiting* it to make some stupid point.

and then we learn that it all started when you were 13 and tried to steal daddy's car and ultimately drove it into a ditch, and you got a beating when you got home

and then you did it again when you were 14 and the same thing happened

and then you got married when you were 16, stole daddy's car again, and then you insisted your new 18 year old husband fix the brakes that you knew were broken, and when he said he wasn't going to fix them you took the car out for a drive and crashed it into a brick wall and then went LOOK IT'S BROKEN AND I TOOK ADVANTAGE OF IT AND GOT HURT WHY DIDN'T YOU FIX IT!1!!1

the audience then comes to understand that you're $#@!ing dumb and you deserve every beating you get

This is so much better than any snarky comment that I could have come up with.

Kudos, Night!

Did you even read what I wrote? Nobody is saying he was responsible for fixing it. He's just a hypocrite. I didn't expect Imago to fix it, and even if he tried I wouldn't expect Imago to have fixed it properly, this is why I asked Xynth to help fix it before imago even started exploiting it.
