I played more alleg last night than I have for the last month.

Thank you R5!
I decided to relive the days gone by in my new blog.

Vista Home Premium, GeForce 7600 GT (or something like that).
Installed the DirectX thing no problems, Launched ASGS, said something about invalid signature, clicked OK, it updated, and launched allegiance just fine :)

Was some 20-30 minutes into a new game, when everything just died on me, posted details here - I didn't try launching it again as I had other stuff to do.

What little I saw was pretty cool though. F5 screen is sweet :)

I wonder how many bugs were discovered already? That is, can R5 be considered ready or does it need immediate fixes?

Also, is server crash related to the new server software?

If all goes well, I think we need a 'proper' installer for all kinds of systems that will be everything a player needs to start playing. Current requirement of separate DirectX installation just scares people away IMHO.

Nope, that was a old bug.

You need that DirectX installation also for games like CoD4, HoI III and many more, specialy on Vista/Win7. ;)

True, but AFAIK they have DirectX installer as a part of their own.

This evening there were some complains by allies of being unable to see enemy bombers on their minimap.

That's odd, it has been working fine thus far with enemy bombers from allied radar

Yes I confirm minimap-bomber map "bug".

We were allied as 1-4 and 2-3, 2-3 were purple and blue, i.e. i was purple.

We COULD see bomber IF our base/probe was present in sector. We could NOT see bomber otherwise. From F3 bomber was visible, but not on minimap and thus no wanring about bomber. Only warning/message was once bomber killed the base.
