I'd still be willing to come up with boosters for ints and figs replacing boosters and light boosters, if it'd actually be up for consideration.

we had gat 3, boost 3, basic fighters

no hvyboost, but the 1k range on our guns made it a more even fight

We can put Hvy Boost in Adv EXP or sy or something...this is will make Hvy Boost more expensive, and If a team had been allowed to mine to 2 ADv techbase...they have a right to cheese. :)

Lol noob

But yes, the issue with that game was bios, not sup. You people not seeing that is scaring me. I am not sure if humanity has any hope anymore. When Dr. Strangelove locks us away in the mines, I may be the only one there.

Psychosis wrote:QUOTE (Psychosis @ Nov 10 2009, 12:08 PM) the problem is the skill imbalance. Take 2 pilots, one of them a moderately good player, and one of them a good player, put the moderately good player in an int and the good player in a fig, and the fig will win, every time. switch the roles and there is a chance that things may go differently.
Depends. We talking heavy boost df3 gat3 minepack2 ss3 advanced fig vs mini3 heavy int, or are we talking gat2/df2/boost2 against a mini2 int? Even a player as @#(!ty as me doesn't typically lose the int v fig battle unless the fig pilot is crafty and knows what he's doing. Otherwise it's just "close to attack range and outdamage" with a little "sidethrust so he can't hit me with dumbfire"

QUOTE As to that game, once we bought a sup, our basic fighters, read that again, BASIC FIGHTERS were more effective than our hvyints.[/quote]
That has nothing to do with heavy booster.

Broodwich wrote:QUOTE (Broodwich @ Nov 10 2009, 01:46 PM) Ints have always taken skill to use, figs before and now even more require less.
Lolwut?

Figs take more skill than ints for several reasons:

1) you have to learn to make DFs hit
2) you have to aim at 600m
3) you have to keep an int between 600m and 400m

Ints are reliant on aiming... guns, which are easier to aim than dumbfire missiles, and ints are closer range. it's much easier to hit something 4m away than it is to hit something 400m.

EDIT:

Rix figs are not like normal figs. Like you said, 1k range. That and your gat3 is very approximately mini2.

LOL!

That's a quote taken out of context which you should know since you read the thread. Even posted in it too!

If your team finds or buys Seeker 2, they do quite a fair bit of damage when ranging incoming ints and hit quite often, also the constant missile beep makes voobs want to overboost. Restricting your arguement to dumbfires and not accounting for the 600 to 500 particle speed differences and gun spreads makes your arguement appear biased. Also an int getting within 400m range doesn't mean instant death, the spread on minis is quite bad and they can't do much at the furtherest of their ranges.

+1

Tactics for Bios involve trying not to lose your miners and kill your opponents miners - if you do lose yours - turtle until the win button (whatever game ending tech for your techpath) comes up. Then win.

I thought only masta thought that? We're talking about something related yet different. We all agree masta didn't kick bios while they were down and therefore they got back up and ate him
I decided to relive the days gone by in my new blog.
