Yes, if you up the speed on figbombers just a tad.
Edit: On second thought, if you remove XRM and force people into figbombing or sbing or whatever, what is the role of Hvy bombers now? I see their usefulness against Tac, but everywhere else, why use it if you can figbomb?
I believe these ALL need a new role assignment.

Thx Apoch
Seriously, the tech is a dependent on dual tech, but its a setting that trigger the tech, remove the dependency from setting and its gonna be used in every game.

Isnt this pretty much the XRM cruise? (well, close enough)

I dont understand a lot of people in this thread, its perfectly viable to tp2 without XRM AB, you just need to be a little more thoughtful about where you drop, and how you drop.
In respect to how to tp2 without XRM AB ... heres a few clues for some of you:
> Uneyed drops in blind sectors or behind asteroids where the base is close
> Aleph drops
> Dual tp2 runs in same sector, or on another target entirely
> Decoy tp2s
All increase you chances of a probe living long enough to rip your fleet of bombers in.
The role of heavy bombers in TP2 drops are to give you that extra survivability ... it takes forever to solo one even with a Mini 3 Heavy Int.

In fact, I played a game yesterday that was commanded by X_Avenger_X and we won with TP2 by dropping the TP2 in the next sector by the aleph. Based on this game and some others, I voted to "Disable".

The enemy lacked at TP2 defence, that's all. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

yeah, a couple of random probes and some prox would handle an aleph drop. The key being the probes being randomly placed since they can spot the tp2 from 7k away or such nonsense

I must say that.... XRM is not a easy thing to get, considering the money that is spend, XRM is a "Coup de grace" tech, against a dedicated team that got a good d. The commanders that can mine for XRM and get the supporting tech, should have this option.
im sry apoch for saying things that have been said before.
