ok, i have a plan...
i'm not sure how soon you [the devs] want the art directory.
at any point in time i can give you a complete artwork directory in 32 bit at any time you want (right now if you really want)
quite a lot of it would be from 24bit source, but the rest would be from converted bmp.mdl 16 bit images
should i create a new folder in the fazftp \Artwork directory called 32bit and stick all the files in there. then replace the 16 bit converted ones with ones made from 24 bit source files people give me as i get them
then include a updated_yyyy_mm_dd.txt or a lastUpdated.txt (which has the date + ) which lists which files i updated on that date so you can tell what has changed since last time
obtaining 24 bit source art status:all files from the allegiance art source that are used in the allegiancce art directory are set most of the sw ships are fine i'm asking weed what the rest of the sw_* textures are (awaiting response)orion has given me GT textures ... which we have discovered to be old versions, he is going to look for the new versions some time. /mellow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mellow.gif" /> orion is going to have a look for effix textures some time in the next week(s?) /mellow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mellow.gif" /> awaiting a response from an AFK veggie about TF textures :(noir seems to be ignoring me (is active on forums but has not responded to my pm) /glare.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":glare:" border="0" alt="glare.gif" /> /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />Grimmwolf has told me ether Terrathra or Deng created the icons for floating fuel / ammo used in GODII, neither of those two has responded. /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> after some initial responses in the
eor forums telling me to ask someone else about the example i used, interest seems to have been lost /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> i don't think PCII and RPS use any special textures not found elsewhere. /huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" /> i'm not sure if there is any life in A+ forums or if anyone is developing it / who to ask for any of their icons they use /unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />OMG:

Yes, please go ahead and upload what you have now into the Artwork folder, you should be able to create a subfolder (32bit) as you mention, but if not PM me. We just need something for testing that has ALL of the artwork in 32bit and it looks like you have that /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />
Make a new folder (32bit_updated) and just stick the ones you have updated since the first upload in there as you get them, we can take care of replacing files as needed that way without worrying about renaming things in the first folder.
Thanks, Dog.

one question, all the files in the allegiance art folder are in the form <name>bmp.mdl
should i name mine <name>bmp.bmp (or if they are png <name>bmp.png ) or should i name them <name>.bmp ( <name>.png )
??
oh, and you didn't want them all in a single .zip did you?
these are the sw_* files i'm missing source files for

Oh, a lot of those are the pseudo reskinned bases raveen (?) made with the rebel and imperial insigna's on them. Some of the other might be icons, which you don't really need sources for.

interesting... i've been comparing files i've converted from the art directory to files i've ended up with...
some of the converted files (bmp.mdl ones) are funny sizes e.g. 4*8, 11*100, 9*43, 11*11 bits of the GUI e.g. buttons and chat scroll sliders etc
however, i used the DX sdk's image converter and it has conveted them al to the nearest larger power of 2, e.g. a 11*11 became 16*16, a 214*14 became a 256*16, with the original image in the top corner, it then padded the extra space with with black pixles with their alpha set to 00 (100% transparent)
is this acceptable, or should i write a program to convert them and keep them the same size and keep everything opaque? (i could also make everything 2^n*2^n and pad extra bits as necessary if that would help with performance?)
edit: i'm going to make them the correct sizes today...
