Not really, some special forces/Marines and some aircraft patrolling don't cost that much. ISIS/Daesh is more or less defeated. It is not about saving cash.
Right now we no longer have a four parties within the conflict, it turned down to three: Syria/Iran/Russia, Kurds/SDF/NATO, Turkey/SFA
Remember, there were no real fights between two of the participants, basically we're down to two parties (Syria/Kurds vs Turkey/SFA):

We've been involved for
five years alongside Russia in Syria, you really think that?
If wars are expensive, then wtf are we still doing in Iraq and Afghanistan? Those cost loads more than Syria
We were the buffer between one of our closest allies in the region and someone who is supposedly our ally but also is now dealing with Russia.
When you have a record of abandoning your allies, expect them to do the same

I don't know, turkey and the kurds will be enemies for the next 1000 years. I don't even know why turkey is in nato. Stability in the middle east over the years because of oil has been a priority. With renewable energy and energy independence in play now, spending money keeping peace in a religious war torn place seems a waste of money. The kurds did help us but we also helped them.

Newly formed NATO and Turkey shared the same interests. Turkey also fought in Korea against the Communists and they acted as a buffer to stop the Soviet expansion into the Mediterranean.

Bare in mind Trump was not the acting President when any of those conflicts started.
Soldiers coming home in body bags is not good press for any standing government.
America has a long list of allies they abandoned.
I suppose if America were attacked we would see the response, or lack there of, from their allies.
With so many Americans being so grossly overweight, now might be the perfect time for an invasion from the north.

Yes I'm sure this nightmare will end. You can look at this as a test of our collective wills to not let the worst parts of human nature dictate civilization going forward. Also it's a lesson in not letting people in power dictate day to day life. There are still examples of compassion, loving kindness, and inclusiveness all over the place.

American special forces would be cought between them. Abandoning the kurds suck, a nato country acting this irresponsible sucks also. It's like canada invading north america becouse they hate the mexicans.
