The two main US parties encompass 3rd parties.
Republican's, for instance, are made up of about 5-15% Libertarians... people who disagree with Social Conservatives and war, but agree with Fiscal Conservatism. I am sure that there are also Libertarians who are members of the Democratic party as well, who value liberal social positions more and are willing to put up with Democrat's less than conservative fiscal position (not that Republicans are really any better in this regard).
The make-up of these two parties is constantly changing over time because of this.
That is the idea of the "big tent" party.
Our two parties are like the alliances in other countries.

voting allianced? We get that sometimes, like small nationalist and religious parties joining forces so they can get a few more members into the parlament between themselves, even though they disagree on almost everything politically. It's a dirty business and much frowned upon. If you meant coalitions as in coalition governments, then I think they are not much like them at all

The mammoths frozen in Ice came from this "little Ice age"??!!??
It makes it hard to present historical evidence in terms of climate when you think the world is 4000 years old...

Thing is k10, I picked up a bible a few years back, and started reading it in earnest. The misogynism and justification for genocidal violence in the Old Testament sickened and horrified me. I can't believe that book is considered "good" by anybody.
