I agree but one of the reasons our big particle accelerator in Texas lost funding is because some congress dude asked "will it find god?" and the physicists decided to answer honestly... it would find the higgs boson.

The correct answer is "Give us some more money and we'll see". When all the experiments are over and god hasn't been found, just say that god probably isn't a particle, may be a wave instead. Need more money to investigate waves...
