Tried the pkk installer?sambasti wrote:QUOTE (sambasti @ May 8 2011, 07:07 AM) I decided to take a break because I was tired of always doing the same standard tactics as commander, and when I did something new and novel, I got mutinied. I didn't plan on leaving forever, but once you stop, it's just too easy to move on. Especially with the pain of trying to reinstall the game.
Why we REALLY need playerbase growth
I have a johnson photo in my profile since 2010.
STOP TURNING AB ON. Imagine this: Yellow is up by 1 player and 50 AS. Normally, we would advise newbies to join yellow. However, everybody sets AB to 1, so the only team a newbie can even attempt to join is blue. What happens to a newbie who wants to play the game and doesn't understand why he has to sit in the lobby for ten minutes waiting for somebody to antistack? What happens when there's three newbies who want to play the game, and the blue comm is a little bitch who won't accept anybody with a # or Novice rank until he gets a vet?
We lose players, that's what happens.

If that 50% wanted to play, maybe they would.lexaal wrote:QUOTE (lexaal @ May 10 2011, 07:10 PM) Allegiance isn't dead. But if 50% of the players posting who didn't play a game the last three months would actually log in and play... let's say 1 game per 5 posts we would have 20 vs 20 instead of 15 vs 15 games.
More advertising will bring players but what is here that will keep them here? Aged graphics, boot happy cmds, confusing gameplay, trouble with installations and updates..? There are problems, not all of which can be solved. But problems aside what do we love about Allegiance? I love Allegiance because every decision requires thought and planning. I love Allegiance because of the power that lies within teamwork. I love Allegiance because...
What I'm getting at is that besides fixing 'problems' we could instead try to play Allegiance to its fullest potential. I think that XC was a step in the right direction to keep the gameplay more varied, but I think we need more. The way I see this happening is to simply have larger games. Being apart of a team based game with more than 100 players is what I believe to be the most attractive aspect of Allegiance. But how is that possible with our current playerbase? Instead of having SGs every Sunday we could combine everyone into 1 big game.
Such spectacles leave an impression. I'm still waiting for another...

Big games, as in this weeks anniversy game, are fun on ocassion but a bent and almost broken version of Allegiance. The cores are not balanced for it, the player's contribution becomes almost a nonfactor, strategy goes out the window since everything gets eyed and a billion people are always present. The very aspects you are claiming to enjoy, like I do, are drowned in a sea of mindless dogfighting, and blind luck.
I get that you like big games over everything else it seems. Your tastes are, to the best of my knowledge, fringe. You are welcome to them and even the repeated posting of them. This post was much better in making your suggestion, then the last one about big game instead of squad games.
You've stated your point, I've responded to it. My advice now? Don't respond further, your debating skills are weak, your posiition unpopular, and I'm afraid you don't have the best reputation in this kind of thing. The outcome is you will get hammered for it, again, and that is not my intention. It is to politely make a counterpoint.

but there is no need for a sammich to be made... yet

Unfortunately I usually don't log in until 2-3 hours past primetime, and by that point the usual game size has shrunk to 5 vs 5, the few good players that are actually online have fallen asleep in the lobby, and every other game is Giga vs something.lexaal wrote:QUOTE (lexaal @ May 10 2011, 07:10 PM) Allegiance isn't dead. Why do you not want to play? I can not understand that. And why are you still here in the forum where 90% of the community had you on the ignorelist before you made that new account? Especially if you don't want to play. I will respect you a lot if i see you in games on a regular base, but until that happens i will put you back on the list. Now: Give me facetime.fuzz_windows wrote:QUOTE (fuzz_windows @ May 11 2011, 03:12 AM) If that 50% wanted to play, maybe they would.
