Maybe we should use Google to see if such a device exists so we can help Aero answer his question

Like this?

Also, Djole: YOU in a lxy int would probably beat me nearly 100% of the time in an IC hvy. That's because I'm not a very good DM pilot. Skill trumps ship most of the time.

But neither are Giga ints ludicrously difficult to shoot. Yeah, they're hard to hit head-on, but why are you trying to shoot something head on? Much better to find something that's not shooting back and stick a few (dozen) bullets in its stomach.

To think, there's another thread with people complaining about how there's no drama. I guess everyone has built up an immunity.

I, for one, enjoyed the first SG I've played in the last few years. Trying to kill that carrier was a good fight, though I didn't expect us to kill it against mid-game belts sup, with regular ints (I don't even think we had mini2)

I knew it was a lost game when Thal chose Giga, I knew it when that op pushed low with no resistance, and I certainly knew it when we couldn't mine, as giga, as exp.

Fun stuff, folks. Looking forward to more.

We had mini2 the whole time after someone podded Paps and docked it (before exp went up and ints were purchased)

Djole88 wrote:QUOTE (Djole88 @ Oct 28 2014, 03:44 AM) I may have sounded offensive which was not my intention, but seriously after playing vs all (was it 3 times against each squad (pre tourney included)?) only xexy is able to organize at such an early time for miner rushes with consistency. Actually only xexy is able to (or so it seems) effortlessly organize and hit when and where it hurts regardless of the factions&techs.
It might seem effortless on the outside, but actually it's a lot of discipline. It's the discipline to be the first person at the aleph and wait. It's the discipline to burn one if you're a bit behind. It's the discipline to hit the same miner. Mostly it's the desire to see that "victory" screen instead of the desire to be at the top of the list when it's sorted by kills/points.

QUOTE My experience tells me that whichever team manages to organize better wins;
Yes but this is hardly skill or stack.

QUOTE Speaking for @END: We always do make a plan but that silly thing gets either thrown away by the most within 4 min in favor of the (admittedly always tempting and fun) circle flying (aka "I think <insert random thing> is critical so I'll disobey orders without notice") or we fail miserably to deliver what was in the initial plan and now we need to change it as we go and that doesn't sit well with the majority so chaos erupts (which still degrades into circle flying). Sorry mates but its the truth. In our defense, judging by how our sgs vs others played out, we don't seem to be the only ones with these problems.
Good, you've figured out what you and your boys are doing wrong. Now fix it!

QUOTE More often then not (at least the games I've witnessed) giga manages to survive to get lxy ints and I did say "after giga gets lxy ints".

phoenix is right though, I do have much to learn about larger games (+10v10, didn't have too many of those).
Giga is all about the late game. Beating giga is all about stomping on their nuts in the mid game. Commanders like Vir and Spidey will always have great success with Giga because they're very much used to hiding their econ and shielding it behind phantom con pushes, all-out miner blitzes, and a good wall of probing and prox. Similarly, they'll make Giga look like @#(! by playing against it and, when they don't go TF exp on a large map (lol), set up their team to kill the enemy's important @#(! and leave everything else alive.

The trick to playing against the top-tier commanders is to figure out that they're a step ahead of you with their miners. Your question should be, "where will they mine next?" not "where are they mining now?" The second step in winning these games is to show up en force on offense, kill your pod asap, and launch again.

QUOTE Solution: Training. People talk about it but no one does it. Real squad game training (ie force concentration and sticking with the objective) not "this is how you prox/nan" thing. I don't wish xexy to be dissolved or weakened by any means. I want the rest to get better.
We want that too. Or, at least I do. That's why I tried to point out what Element did wrong. Not to rub it in their face, not to go "lawl lawl we R kings of allegiance," but so they could maybe understand the strategies of this game a little better.

After squad games I commanded a game against someone (I forget who, sorry!) where it was Omicron vs my Giga. They had Heavy Ints up right about when we got Enh Fighters up. We still won - due to a textbook giga econ (though we did lost my second full miner), hilariously awesome scout miner offense, and 250k made from spec refs

It was me.

I'm very grateful for that lesson :notworthy: and to weedman and babel for much help and sticking through that game.
