Dang this is a ton of free in-game cash and exp... think they may have gone a little overboard with those (from a business standpoint).

Nah, once you get up to higher levels, that cash can go fast. Its not just the planes, you have upgrades for engine, polishing, loadouts, ammo belts... The biggest kicker is that lots of the higher tier aircraft (except russian, of course) cost an ass ton to repair. Right now you have low level stuff that is super cheap to fix, but also with each new plane you get 10 free repairs. So at some point you need to start watching your econ.

Nice to see a flight game with some interesting flight mechanics that doesn't feel like a rigid/glitchy plate.
Having it range from arcade to realistic is nice for having more relaxed controls if you want it, or more complex controls if you're up for the challenge.

Warbirds and its @#(!ty lag management, @#(!ty monthly fee, @#(!ty lack of any meaningful number of players, and @#(!ty CD case that looked like it was bought in a pack of 10 at a dollar store and has a paper insert that was printed from someones home printer using standard letter paper cut out and stuffed into the CD case slot haphazardly can all go and suck it.

Call me if (or when) they decide to implement some sort of persistent rolling campaign with realistic settings where bombing/capturing objectives is the main point ;)

I miss old WB 2.77 which good ol' russians emulated at wbfree.net (pity it's even more dead than alleg now) ^^

How much research did you actually do? I've never done them, but there are "Full Real Battles" and apparently "Dynamic Campaigns" (though I don't see how to start a dynamic campaign). There is a lot of realism to the game.

EDIT:
An example of a guy in a Full Real Battle. He's got head tracking and everything: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYmf_XiXfJM

You mean I can't keep just flying biplanes? I like my biplanes.

You can fly your biplanes as long as you want, just dont mix a tier 10 plane in with your biplane fleet. Unless you want to take your biplanes against higher level craft, that can get amusing sometimes.

Yes! When you go matchmaking it ranks you with your highest level plane. I did shoot down a 262 with a lagg once though :D

Its much less of an issue now that its open beta and tons more people, but before it could get nasty with people in reserve aircraft against/with jets.

It seems that FRBs only last 1 hour. And the whole concept of levels and matchmaking in these "realistic" battles is "meh". I'd like some sort of for example 1939-1945 persistent campaign with historical plane choices ;)
