Only a small fraction of the money supply is ever circulating in the form of banknotes anyways.Ryujin wrote:QUOTE (Ryujin @ Jan 21 2013, 08:43 AM) well the fed regularly destroys and prints money all the time. not saying inflation isn't a bitch, and overprinting money does add to inflation, but theoretically the crisp one is replacing a crased, folded, dogeared torn one. though i'm sure they print more than they destroy

There's some truth in that article. It picked up on the healthcare & low levels of holiday, which are the two things which have made me sure that I never want to live there. Everyone seems to like moaning about heir country but the UK isn't that bad really.

Funnily enough from a Nordic perspective the holidays are not good in the UK, since you can't get more than a week at a time without negotiating it specially with your boss. That's a misconception - two weeks is the standard issue summer holiday and is never a problem to arrange (beyond ensuring office cover etc). In most work places you have to negotiate when leave is taken to ensure continuity of service but there's rarely a problem with actually taking it.Adept wrote:QUOTE (Adept @ Jan 23 2013, 11:10 AM) Funnily enough from a Nordic perspective the holidays are not good in the UK, since you can't get more than a week at a time without negotiating it specially with your boss. Education: 200$ cost for 5yrs for Msc in mechanical engineering.
Work:I have 33 workdays for vacation(40 is max)+5 holidays+10 days of 70% payed holiday+ if I’d have some work related illness I would have 10 day treatment in the spa.
But I work in a coal mine as a maintenance engineer.
100% covered healthcare for me and family.
40hrs/week
2months/yr shortened pensioning age.
Wife has minimum 1yr maternity leave, max 2yrs for first 2 children each, min 3yrs for 3rd
All this in Europes worst economy.
