How did you find Alleg?

Heard about the source release at the XWA Upgrade and figured it'd be worth a go.

Does anyone have a copy of the PC Gamer advert? Would be interesting to see

HOTU too, I was a regular for abandonware games back in 2004-5, mostly strategy games, saw it when looking for simulators and read the review, found it interesting but didn't look it up for months.

I was browsing the forums for Dwarf Fortress, chuckling at the many and varied ways things could go wrong for a crowd of drunken dwarves, when I saw a link to the Alleg site in someone's signature line. What caught my eye was the mildly clever quote he put with it: "Allegiance, the best game you've never played."

Was leading a pirate corp in EvE, to great profit, which is actually where I met the player who brought me here. New feature by CCP completely destroyed the niche I was operating out of, and I did not want to head back to 0.0 sec and have more blob fights.

Trasher had got me to play Free Alleg for around 3 games or so in summer of '06 (as per the forum profile creation date.) I decided to try to dive into it the next winter after I was fed up with EvE. Those of you who remember me as a noob will remember my first attempts at game commanding in January/February of '07. Those were also my first ever few games.

Yes, I was one of those noobs.
