Can we stop people from abusing lobby bans please

Nah.

There is no real good reason to lobby ban someone (apart from breaking the rules in extreme cases), almost all lobby bans would fall under retaliatory booting rules.

Rules are rules... if you can't play within them, then don't play at all. It's not like the "don't lobby ban" rule is particularly onerous anyways.

Do remember Masta has a rather poor disciplinary record so the 16 days is not just for this offence really.

I've been unbanned for over 2 years now... I've been banned once between now and then.
and people don't lobby ban nearly enough, because of this rule, and also the @allegs don't ban the people in the lobby who should rightly be lobby banned.
I don't get why this is treated much differently than a commander booting someone (any time for any reason so long as not "retaliatory")
I lobby ban for the same reason I would boot anyone from my team, and it's just as easy for him to rejoin (change names as log back in)
but then for doing the essentially the same thing, I'm banned for 16 days, the day before a squad game (which is something you don't pull on other people)

sooo many people should be lobby banned, all the time
especially people like trax_kaab, sob_larry/marty, k10/his various hiders
the people who would rather sit on NOAT and complain about how teams/factions/tech paths are too imbalanced for them to play

Masta, that's why we have a mute function. If you don't want to hear someone, mute them. Lobby bans aren't for "This guy is pissing me off"

Your squad does more whining than actually playing. Lobby bans are for "this guy is pissing everyone off by whining and not playing".
