yeah well when moderation is needed where is it....
at least edit the first post to add a big red comment saying that this is not an officially supported site and exe.
Because most people won't read all the following posts up to your post and will just click the link and download the @#(! to their computer and then god knows what will happen to them...

the code to ASGS is not available to be fixed. The "loopholes in ASGS" must be fixed by Pook.

Incorrect: not loopholes "IN" asgs, loopholes "AROUND" ASGS were what were being exploited.
This code is open source.
Yes there are ways to get through ASGS, but that is not the issue which was being exploited in the incidents of a couple weeks ago.
Imago knew about the hole IN THE OPEN SOURCE LOBBY code, and I guess since he wasnt smart enough to plug the hole, he decided to exploit it.

mathchamp wrote:QUOTE (mathchamp @ Sep 29 2010, 07:07 PM) FAO R6 beta is not working for people who obtain it through ASGS AutoUpdate (it seems to require some artwork files that were nonexistent in R5).
The crash occurs when either you enter a game in progress and join a team, or you are on a team and the game is launched (it crashes as the countdown begins).
The program doesn't crash outright but pops up an error message with the missing file error. If you close that error box and try to go back to allegiance it will pop up another error for another missing file. Once it goes through the missing files it will just stay non-responsive.
This is the first I've heard of it since I fixed that problem and tested it over a week ago. Even pkk says it's fixed and he was the loudest person here when it came to how broken it was.
When you went into beta mode today, did you both Update/Repair critical files before you logged in?
I would check here to make sure you're not running the configuration from R4 still, also.
You still have to update/repair when switching between beta and production, but it's been that way since the Beta functionality was put in due to lots of callsign griefing back when Pook was still around.

To be honest I'd have penned it more as a comedy with you in
this role. But whatever floats your boat I suppose.

Bard, uninstall everything, reboot, reinstall alleg and then test.
