A simple $#@! you usually suffices in these circumstances.

I hope Drizzo gives you the testrun and you will move from theretical to applied science. If you prove him wrong, then I will happily burn on the cross, but until then I remain stubornly set in my belief in the white fwooshing one.

Let me just rapid fire the situations that I would be practically concerned about a question like seeker vs quickfire. Most of the other situations could be considered artistic circle flying.

Very Early in the game (First Launch; scouting)
Early in the game (Second Launch; miner hunting or defending)
Middle of the game (10th minute to 20th minute)
Late in the game (20th minute until advanced tech)
End game (Post Advanced tech)

Attacking a miner. (Solo w/ searching for the miner on rocks)
Attacking a miner. (Solo w/o searching)
Attacking a miner. (Group w/ searching)
Attacking a miner. (Group w/o searching)
Attacking a miner. (lightly defended)
Attacking a miner. (heavily defended)
Attacking a constructor. (Solo)
Attacking a constructor. (Group)
Pushing a constructor into enemy sectors.
Decamping an Aleph before a bomber goes through (Killing Scouts that are mostly still laying down prox).
Camping the red door of a base.

Defending a miner. (Left alone in Open)
Defending a miner. (Without Help)
Defending a miner. (With nanite Help)
Defending a miner. (With non-nanite help)
Defending a miner. (Against SF's)
Defending a constructor. (Without nanite help)
Defending a constructor. (With nanite help)
Defending a base against an enemy bomb run. (Camping an Aleph).
Defending a base against an enemy bomb run. (Out in the open).
Spiking a bomber at the aleph (Bomber rolls through prox then spike the bomber)
Spiking a bomber in the open

Picking up Tech
Picking up Cashboxes
Deprobing
Situation with total ambiguity

So, these are the situations that I care about in allegiance. Assume you have fighters in all of these situations, which missiles do you use? Dumbfire, quickfire, or seeker?

BTW, I get your point that if you fire 6 quickfires _AND_ they all hit they do 204 damage vs the 2 seekers that could be fired doing 120 damage.

QF's are good for spoofing towers while you shoot them.

You sir have found a valid use for quickfires. Impressive.

Also good on combat nans that want to snap off a quick shot at the enemy without waiting a long time for a lock while the ship they are protecting is getting hammered. If gunners are hitting same target, quicker missle transit time also helps score a hit (and thus help) before the target is killed anyways.

But you probably rather have prox in cargo most of the time, so not much beyond the "free" mounted rack.

Anyone who uses QF for any purpose is an idiot.

Queue up ladies, but id like to see anyone pretend like they could take me

p.s. in cc_08 firing quickfires will cause your ship to explode
