I was browsing the Wikipedia list of freeware games. Over the past year, I've tried a packet of open-source / freeware games, from Tremulous to Battle for Wesnoth, from Savage 1 to Planeshift. Guess I like novelty /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />
But Allegiance (or Free Allegiance as it should be known, but what the heck!) has something special. Dunno what if you ask me, but somehow, I find "working for your game" very satisfying. Back when I used to play commercial MMORPGs, I liked the team spirit that sometimes turned up in the heat of battle (or rather, the middle of a 5-hour dungeon raid /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> ).
With Alleg, that same kind of "doesn't matter if you aren't skilled, so long as you know what you're doing" spirit seems to hang in the air (or should i say, space) from time to time.
...if you forget all those frustrating moments when noone listens to one another, that is /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
Hum, this seems to be my first post on this forum. Been doing a lot of reading, really...

-My clan is trying to find a game everyone can play, because we have so many divisions noone plays together as much as we would like. Sarge found this game and posted about it on the forums
Sadly, im the only one who has really taken to alleigance, I guess the stacked games discourage the others...

I just downloaded this yesterday and for some reason cannot recall where I found it.
However, I do remeber trying to play Allegiance about a year ago, only to be thwarted by my sup par video card.

I'm not sure if this counts.
Technically, I registered and played this game back in 2003, when spunkmeyer helped to introduce the game to people in the
Natural Selection forums. The creator for that HL mod first brought the game to our attention, and he was hoping someone could help with the restrictive approval registration that was in place back then. I played for less than a month and quickly gave up.
Something clicked in me during this month and I decided to check this game again, and I was surprised my old name and password was still in place. I'm not sure what made the game stick to me this time around, but I've been unhealthily addicted to this game right now, and I'm learning as I go. Having genuinely played for less than a month, I'm still a newbie, but unfortunately as a (10), I'm starting to build some irritation to (0)s and novices, something that I was just only 2 weeks ago.

Found it on a PC Magazine in Australia where there were heaps of free games
Have found allegiance addictive and elo/helo stacked as well
Cant wait to play squad games but at 5AM on a Monday morning it is difficult for me.
