You know, I was thinking, I made the map so that you will make enemy contact pretty quickly... there are about as many jumps inbetween team homes as there are on EastWest or something, but then there's just a crapload of other sectors. Maybe i should change starting positions so that they're SUPER far away, so that when they DO make contact, they're both already badasses?

Or, that might be incredibly boring because you'd be flying around for 20 minutes simply scouting and building an insane # of bases...

I think 2 massive teams will be more fun. More space, lol.

Just make it really easy to go sector overload.

All the more fun.

I do believe this is reason to update the minimap! say, you could have it zoomable and able to change center of focus.
Perhaps have different levels of detail: oh look, theres a base in danger in galaxy r468....*clicks on it.... ohhh looks like its in the western arm region....*clicks on it......*rips to sector bragi to defend base

The usefulness of the minimap is that it gives you overall vision of the game at any given moment. So galaxies are not good.

Temporarily zoom in, though, sounds interesting. I recall the MPOGD's screenies with coloured dots around the sector icon.
