It froze completly when I tried to leave the planet PC core. I used the back button and hit ok, then it just locked up.
I tried it again and it did the same thing.
McAffee firewall on.

That's a holdover from the old "Lock Sides" code that I decided to leave in. We can all go to NOAT anyways so it isn't a big deal.
If everyone thinks it'd be better if the restriction was removed then I guess we can remove it. I guess it's not really serving a purpose anyways, huh...

I experienced my very first Crash Guard last night. (I've heard people mention it, but I had never actually seen it... CDTs, yes, in Regular and in Beta.) It only happened once... got the looping sound for several iterations, screen with no movement, a pause, then boom! to the crash guard screen. I had just left a base, in an int, and was turning hard left with boosters on, fwiw. (joystick controlled) Probably just an anomoly, but I thought I'd mention it just the same.

I've not crashed with R3 once, but than that is just me.
R2 crashes rarely, and before that the old Alleg would crash maybe once every few days.
What I have noticed is about 80% of the crashes are lag/network related, I'd notice something was up, like I just flew right through that aleph, I'd flip to alt-f and then watch my ping climb (which is that happens when packets are not getting through) then sound would either start to stutter or it would just plain crash. Parts of the network code still hang on a connect attempt and when they time out and finally 'check back' sometimes things have 'all gone to hell' (that is a technical term) and you just crash.
Now things have gotten progressively better for me over the last 3 years, but then again so has my internet connection /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
But please post if you are crashing more often. And if you notice things are acting 'weird' press alt-f and see what lag: and ping: are reporting.

i figured out that part, just thought it was kinda silly and all it does is slow down the changing teams process
i thought it was a bug / something you missed because:
QUOTE it's not really serving a purpose anyways[/quote]
its jsut something we have to explain to the noobs that to change teams they ned to go to NOAT first

Freebeer's post sounded exactly like what happened with me.

Other than the one problem I posted, I crash more on the current Alleg than on the FAZ.

CrashGuarded.
I was testing BeautyServ.
I logged into each of the servers one by one. When I hit back to lobby on one of them, it CGed.

Actually I've seen something similar to this in the debugger when leaving a server. It was a crash in the sound stuff. If I see it again, I'll grab more details.
