Well after reading though the entire thread, only a few of the posts had any real irony. Just story and angry frustrations and the Mini-Napoleon commanders out there. New to the game, and enjoy the tactical aspect of it. But after playing 4 years in FPS TacticalRealism, the discipline and cool headedness of the commanders here is weak. There should be an age limit of everyone under 25 cannot command.

Yeah, the title was created awhile back when I didn't understand irony.

Please clarify, becuase I would define that as experience in 6+ hour 32 Player, 4 squad, 3 tier TS channel FPS game in something like ArmA, OFP or ArmAII as commander or at least squad leader.
Even against that, I think that our REAL commanders are pretty damn good.....as quicker thinking and more yelling is required, as opposed to 4 steps ahead strategy with time in between like in my above example where you generally have players who actually know how a CoC works and will obey or else risk being shamed off the planet

Tactical Realism is a community, or a gamestyle. Traditionally it was launched on the old MoH games and DoD, and became popular in the CoD series.
It matches your definition pretty well, RR is more what you describe (Revised Realism), I have played in 32 vs 32 Squad based matches on large CoD:2 maps, however gettting such large numbers without lag was hard so usually a 20 vs 20 was played.
Basically the rules were use your Iron Sights at all times and Bunny Hopping or Run and Gunning is banned, the leaders in the various clans and communities were very skilled and good at commanding.
I was not insinuating the commanders here are bad, on the contrary, I have experienced some expert leadership here, usually in the late evning. However as I stated the GMT afternoon seems to be almost the "training" ground of young commanders, who can easily get a little hot headed and although are excellent tacticians, lack the relevant skills to keep a team happy and calm.
It is offputting for new players to get shouted/berated or kicked due to someone elses anger or lack of ability to control it. Most people who command will talk to the person they are confused about or find an explanation, yet for those times of "Rage" when everything goes to pot and in a surge of hormonal anger the commander will kick half the team, it can ruin the game. Alas is the fate of command structred games, however a warning screen saying "ARE YOU IN A FIT STATE OF MIND" flashing for a second if someone wishes to boot, may stop the lvl 5 being un-necesarily kicked. I digress, sorry for this irrelevant to the post ramble, I have had a cork shoved up my anus the past week.

Weylin the funny part of that one is that you think it was at all related to the lag spike!
