Ryujin wrote:QUOTE (Ryujin @ Jun 28 2018, 09:44 PM) So I just tried Beta... no one else was online, but everything seemed to work, with one exception.
The quick reference was way oversized and didn't fit on the screen... and worse was that I was not able to exit out of the quick reference screen.
Thanks!
So pretty much the same as the non-beta. I'm reluctant to spend time on fixing non-standard potato resolutions, but I guess I'll put it on my list since it's a bit more prominent now.

Specifically for the "quick reference"/F1/help popup no. It's in there for a few months already, but I'll see what I can do.

Ryu mentioned on discord that he is crashing on the beta. While it was my plan to release it right now, I'll wait until we can look into that first.

Once i discovered it was F1 to open/close it, it did open and close. (was trying escape)
But the part of the quick reference showing F1 for the quick reference is hidden.

Took a while but this version is back under the steam beta "next-release". See the first post in this topic on how to enable it.
Changes since two months ago. For a more detailed view see
https://github.com/FreeAllegiance/Alleg ... xt-release.
Code: Select all
- DirectX version upgrade to have access to a "frame latency" configuration. This improves input latency, especially with vsync on. This however removes XP compatibility.
- Some additional code checks around alt-tabbing back into the game. The DX upgrade should also affect the crashing issues we have been having here, hopefully in a positive way.
- Fixed faulty doubleclick detection on my wireless mouse.
- Fixed an issue with the reading of the configuration that caused a performance loss on every frame.
- Fixed a problem with the startup causing the window to go fullscreen while it should still be running the intro movies or the loading icon.
- Did some more work on separating the engine from the game. The debug text that would be shown with alt-f has a different font now.
Full notes.

I want to push this again.
While the earlier deploy can be called disastrous, there have been no major issues since. Ofcourse, this partially has to do with so few people giving feedback.
What are people's thoughts on the state of the beta?
