Speaking of pansies, I remember a lot of the UT2004 servers banning you just for saying "wtf"
In a game where you can die from a stray piece of shrapnel bouncing around a corner, I think such a term would be completely justified.

It's a shame this poll/thread is about "harsh language" when other issues would be much more interesting when it comes to player retention.
In my humble experience only stuck up US-citizens care about harsh language and its harming effects on the younglings.
In Alleg I actually enjoy the somewhat "adult" environment and that people are free to chat however they want.
Nevertheless, I find it pretty sucky and totally unnecessary when people adress others in chat directly and call them names such as:
"Shut the $#@! up noob", "Idiot" ... whatever. Always makes me think that a certain 40 year old dude, who lives in his moms basement, has never gotten over his youthhood, somehow thinks he is the big-mac with cheese just because he is good at a game he has played for an entire decade and, in the given situation probably being a bit too drunk, has to inscene himself in a chat that is populated by some puny 20 people, half of which are afk anyways ...
Sad stuff. So I say: Don't abstain from harsh language for the sake of newbies. Do it for yourself and keep your dignity ...

Yeah, I'm a bona fide newbie 'round these parts, and I don't have any $#@!ing problem with harsh language. But calling your own teammates morons is a big turnoff.
