Missiles are all the "parts" armour class, just like probes. Which leads to the idea of special de-probing equipment with a modifier of say 150%-200% vs. parts. An anti-parts weapon could be useful for both de-probing and shooting down missiles, and could be made fairly useless for everything else to maintain balance.

I wonder if it's possible even in theory to make an anti-missile missile. It might require such good tracking and manoeuvrability that it'd crash the game or something, like with that super-missile someone designed a while back that never worked.
I know for certain that Alleg uses the point intersection method for hit detection. I've made a gun that fires at stupidly fast speeds that would occasionally fire through things if they were small and it was fired at certain times. I can easily see this being an issue with missiles.
Girly, I've tested the anti missile thing with both Dorjan and Wizard. AB fired straight at you, dead easy intercept for a QF. The collision just doesn't seem to register.

I've fired missiles at missiles before. They'll track (at lest when I did it), but won't score any damage. Then again, that may have been a couple of builds ago. I should add that I haven't tried it recently.
I was of the understanding that missiles will kill each other regardless of hitpoints.
