The setting is on the router. You would need to connect to a network with a working alleg installation to exclude the router from the mix.

yeah trend micro is off. what do u mean connect to a network with an alleg installation? but like i said i have had this router for years and i played allegiance like a year ago with this same router but i had a compaq computer with xp on it.

Modern Firewalls tend not to deactivate everything upon "turning them off".

i am haveing the same problem as well. i tryed makeing a game as well. the strange thing is that my game came up in the list and one of my friends that is playing the game could join the one that i made but i could not join it or any other game. i cannot see what i am doing wrong. the only thing that may be the problem is McAfee on my computer but i have tryed disbaling this and it still want work. it seems there are a lot of people with this problem. is there any chanse of getting a hot fix

You need to find a network, where a computer can successfully connect to the Allegiance lobby. This network should therefore let you connect with your laptop to the Allegiance server, IF the problems you encounter in your home net are caused by your router. If you cannot connect from the other network, your laptop is one of the problems.
I am running out of ideas though. With no firewall installed, no antivirus software, you should be able to connect to the servers. Maybe try rebooting your router and modem by unplugging the power.

yea im running out of thoughts to...... i think its this dam laptop. there is no reason i shouldnt be able to play. If nothing else im am buying a pc in april but i will try the network thing and let u know

Launch Internet Explorer or FireFox, and enter the Router’s default IP address, 192.168.1.1, in the Address field. Then press Enter.
A password request page will pop up. Leave the User Name field blank, and enter admin (the default password) in the Password field. Then click the OK button.

Click on the security link at the top of the page. Remove the checkmark from the "Block Anonymous Internet Requests". Make sure Firewall Protection is set to "Disable". Click Save Settings and see if that doesn't help.

Also, have you ever had Norton antivirus on that machine?...if so, run this and reboot.

Actually, I would not disable the hardware firewall of your router, because Allegiance can handle router firewalls.

That firewall is set to "disable" by default. You should leave it off as you are inside a private network. This is the side benefit of having a router.
