if it's available and the commander gives you the money for it, it's not cheating
its just using your resources

Oh yeah. If there is an exploit and someone tells you how to do it, it's not cheating. Nice logic.

I don't know whether it's considered an exploit or not, but it sure seemed cheap to me. I should note that in fairness we didn't buy them until Grav's team was reduced to two sectors, we owned the rest of the map, had about 6 tech bases, hvy ints, hvy bbrs, XRM2, adv scouts, and tp2. That's not a justification by any means, just that in this particular case it didn't really affect the outcome of the game.
Belters were turtled and we had a hard time breaking their camps. Multiple people asked me to buy observers for this purpose so I did. I didn't think about it much at the time. It isn't too bad of a cheat because the scout has to get in there anyway, as the observer can't deploy the tp2. It just saves a few bucks in case your scout gets murdered on the way in. But still, if observers can carry cargo, you can use them for this, or to resupply anything - bombers, cap ships, etc. This seems like not what observers are intended to do.
I'm not going to buy observers again as commander. My apologies to grav and his team, I shouldn't have bought them this game.

I left before the observer incident occurred... otherwise I would have slapped someone. That is dirty.

it may be cheap, it may be dirty, but it is in the game, and it is useable for this, so it is not cheating.
dishonorable, yes, but not cheating.

So you're saying, Beez, that because someone uses an undetectable ship, that is meant to OBSERVE things (hence the name), to instead, use its undetectability to transport critical items to cruicial ships located in a sector that would otherwise be impossible to gain entry to if the ship was not undetectable by nature, and having the nature to observe things because of this undetectability, which is instead used to undetectably transport undetectable cargo to hidden ships in the sector it undetectably gained entry to is not cheating?
I mean, I'm all for dirty tricks but there's a line you don't cross.

i wouldnt do it either, but some people would
im just saying its not cheating, just playing dirty
however, i would be all for it if they took out the cargo hold on the observer
i'm all for honor

Just PM Noir and have him fix it. It would take all of 10 minutes to fix and have put on the autoupdate or just get rid of them altogether. Problem solved. But yes, that is some dirty pool there. I wonder how many people even knew you could use them in that fashion.

the funny thing is, the observer was completely unnecessary. There were scouts sitting in the sector with x-tra tp probes on board...
