My clock says 10:19pm as I click *post*...
Bah! 10:08pm?
I was under the impression that this thing was syncing with an NTP server. No clue why it isn't.
I'll follow up on this.

Is the server based like 10 minutes east of EST?

Nope, this server is based in the same precise location as stripe, although its altitude is about 0.1mm higher.
I'll chalk this up to a warp in the space-time continuum 0.o

"Stop making @#(! up, yo"
Sorry for not reporting it in
You'll probably have to magic it back to normal. I remember something about daemons... ?
I dunno.
Edit:
Yay, back to normal.

just setup an hourly cron job like this:
nano /etc/cron.hourly/ntpdate.sh
Enter the following in the script:
Code: Select all
#!/bin/sh
/usr/sbin/ntpdate time.nist.gov
Save the file (ctl-x, y, <enter>) and then make it executable: chmod 750 /etc/cron.hourly/ntpdate.sh
OH . .and turn off ntpd. Dunno which flavor of linux you have.
chkconfig ntpd off
that will do it on redhat and derivations (like fedora).
double check it with
chkconfig --list ntpd
make sure it's off at runlevel 3 and 5 (not sure which init you go to, hope it's 3 though, for security).

Does that mean all the wisecracks haven't been all that funny until now?

The first time this happened I told saucetel to get their sauce together and autosync with an NTP server.
When it happened the 2nd time I asked for the same thing.
I'll ask them a third time
