I think whatzzit posted the final results and we were less than a 100 votes from taking the lead. That would have been amusing...

KofiMan wrote:QUOTE (KofiMan @ Feb 28 2007, 06:14 AM) I don't think I'll bother, actually. R3 and word of mouth are working well enough to pick up more newcomers... we've had more in the last two weeks than we have had for years. No biggie if we get some site to add a few more.
Hmm -- Mr. Obvious says -- connect the $#@!ing dots!!!!!!
How much more correlation do you need? We got more players BECAUSE we were either first or second on MPOGD.
Get it?? Need I draw a diagram? (actually, someone already has on another related thread).
Please, I beg you, stop the STUPID posts on this subject.
We should implement a strategy to come in second each month. We can be in first during the month, but it is important to always end in 2nd place because if yo finish first, you can't vote for your game for another 12 months.
Doing the vote thing on MPOGD is good advertising. So to all you nattering nabobs who are moralizing and wringing your hads or just saying the MPOGD site is garbage -- look at our incerase in new players this month.
Get a clue and wake up!!!!!

I don't know, really, why i keep replying.
All I want to point out is that I know it's important to achieve a goal, but it's also important HOW to achieve it.
full stop.
sorry 4 too much posting.

Jjb: It would be robbing if there was any system to prevent it. But the system is abused, and the site owners are actually happy of the situation.
More votes = More traffic = More ads served = More value for advertisers = More advertisers = Profit!
This site has been up for more than 6 years -- this means they have a clue. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
Batman: It is also true that people frown cheating upon. So if this is to be done, we should act a bit more stealthily. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
Sp4wn: because he already loves the game and doesn't like this business? I already said this: people frown cheating upon. And, we're all entitled to our opinions. More than 600 posts on the topic and you STFU a new player? Look at the postcount. /huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" />
