Why would it need to be in cadet? I mean really...

Cons will fight over the same spot. If you have two op cons in the same sector and both are hitting for the same rock, neither will build while the other lives. Better hope you have alot of figs there.

Not true.

If cons are coming from the complete opposite ends of the sector I am pretty sure they wont fight over same spot

I just saw an example of this yesterday. One con built, while the other was setting up on the other side of the rock.

in the pic i posted, the cons came from different sides of the sector, mine came from low, jimmy's from high

Not so much cons fightong over same spot, but that you should not get within so many meters of the con or it won't plant. Nanage 101 -- nan cons, but keep clear when planting sort of instructions. I knew you should not get between con and asteroid, but did not know I could muck it up if I got within 400m trying to combat nan the sucker when it tries to plant.

Don't listen to ANY of these people.

It's 400m. Do it. Good job. Thanks.

Just dont be in front of the $#@!ing con's head. It becomes tricky since it flips, realigns then dives but you can be sitting 1m right next to and/or behind it and it WILL plant. However unless you want an Ozzy boot do what he says when he's the comm

MrChaos says, "400 m check "

Anguirel wrote:QUOTE (Anguirel @ Feb 9 2007, 07:25 PM) This is definitely wrong -- having chased many cons down while flying sideways, they almost never dive straight in -- usually they approach one side and then turn to plant, and occasionally they will go around to the far side, and they most definitely will both fight for the same spot on the rock to plant.
I think this needs to be tested. Perhaps tech cons fight for the same spot, but I've seen small base cons at least appear to set up on opposite sides of a rock and attempt to plant. I witnessed two tech cons fighting over a the same spot on a Si rock yesterday though. Given the angles they approached from its likely that madp is correct at least about tech cons. I still have my doubts about small base cons though.

OK everyone, whats the nan range, 400m i think?

If so, shoot it from 400m-420m if you need to nan it, just make sure you are behind it.

This should work, i have been able to start bombing bases at 1200m when the rang of the missle is 1000m, same basics apply, its 400m to the center of your target, not until you can actually hit it, so, instead of actually hitting the con/bomber/miner (never heard of someone nanning a miner, but, oh well) you'd be hitting the engines or the wings or some other part of the ship that is farther away from the center of the craft.

Ranges depend on factions and GAs.

Missile range when fired like a rocket with no targetting is +0.1k per 20 mps of speed.
