So....... you? Your description above almost completely describes my thoughts about you.Jormagund wrote:QUOTE (Jormagund @ Jan 30 2007, 11:43 AM) Now that the noob question is answered, we have a bigger problem. Pre-voobs. Not quite voobs (since voobs know their place) but not quite noobs. Ppl who just refuse to grow out of taht 'I roxxorz and m teh numb3r 1- 3v3n if u c4nt s33 it!' mentality. They don't follow in game orders believing they actually know what is useful in a game, they post on the forums like their opinion is actually valid and they generally delude themselves into thinking they are somehow human-- or worse, comparable to our glorious vet superiority. They think they are ready to comm, boot pilots, and tell other pilots when theyre wrong. These are the real problem, noobs have an excuse they don't know better but if you're carrying around inter 8 I expect you to (altho you prolly cant shoot worth @#(!) be able to follow orders and attack a probe or be able to deal with trash talk when you comm your team into the abyss.

TB you are still holding a grudge from almost a year ago. Congrats on being about as mature as 15 yo. You love following up any oppourtunity you see to bash me and frankly it doesn't bother me in the least. It just shows me that once upon a time with about 15 minutes of effort i created a thorn in your side that lasted for 11+ months. TB: 0 Aegis516: 1

btw you totally missed the sarcastic fun I was poking at the elitist mentality and by backing it up throw all that sarcasm onto yourself. I suppose I should clarify in case any others get confused- yeah noobs are a pain but we were all noobs once. We shouldn't baby them into thinking we live to bring them up but we don't have to make it a trial by fire either. The frustration you're venting is better aimed at ppl like (and for poor little clueless TB's sake I will name names) /ninja.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ninja:" border="0" alt="ninja.gif" /> who think bc they lost their # they are as good as @"anything". Look at Ratak, Saben, and Mut2121. They are all still # (Ratak recently shed his) but because they play well and act mature they went from noob to voob overnight. I'm not claiming to be anything other than Voob so the 'vet superiority' is obvious sarcasm.... or so I thought
sorta like the comment BV rofled at

They often hold boob fighting competitions and battle for the coveted Golden Bra of Nippal.
TB wins. The funny thing about it is... with every post Mjolnir makes, TB only wins more without even having to say a damn word.
Mjolnir/Aegis/Jormagund/whatever also apparently doesn't realize that getting recruited by Vipur doesn't instantly make you a superstar.

RT: The number of typical responses decreases exponentially as the number of joke options increases.

look guys wehave a problem, best way is to talk it out, grab some ideas,,
develop a system that allows new guys the time they need and vets the games they deserve. this is not one persons problem, its every1's problem,,,,
Forcing someone to go somewhere to learn there game is not forceing if they dont know any better, as far as any new newb sees its a place where i can go to learn this game unhindered by vets
@alleg and @ cadet where made to teach the new guys, haveing a populated (forced)new guy server will help this community greatly
correction @alleg teaches and refs the peoples- makeing sure some respect for humans out there is folllowed.
every1 needs to stop thinking its vets vs newbs thats not the case,,,, its about makeing the gameplay of this game that much better for all!
not just for new guys not just for vets but every1
i would like the senate to debate my idea of only showing a newbie server to newbies and once they hit inter they can be alllowed to see the vet servers.
BTW - newbs will level faster if they can actually play the friigin game, it takes a new guy longer to level in a vet game then it would if he played people his own skill,,, get the drift...
The IDea
1.Give new guys a place to develop there skills and learn the game at there own speed.
2.stop the harrassment of new players- forceing quits
3.vets not playing due to newb staxx
1. Make asgs recognize a new player and showing him only the new player server
2. when a new player hits intermidiate they are allowed the veiwing of all servers.(reward for putting in there newbie time)wich would be faster then playing on vet servers and never getting a single kill, unless they hopped on a vets back and helped them pod
3. the new guys need this! the vets need it! alleg needs it,
see the future
u guys talk about guys quitting vets and new guys alike
change it
make it better for both sides dont cater to one side or the other see the problem on the whole an u will see what i say makes perfect sense!
and this game will expand
by not forceing new guys onto a newbie server hurts this community! and force is a bad word i say give them there own arena till there ready to hit the big time!
Problem#1 returning vets- forced to play with newb s on newb server cause asgs doesnt recognize them as returners, that should be no problem if your returning vet, u should level up pretty fast! if not u need the practice and refresher course anyways!
problem #2 no competant coms for newb server- wrong if this goes into effect each @cadet teacher and @alleg should be made to put in teaching time on the newb server! sometimes newguys like to com to
problem #3 no population on newb server- whatver theres allways 2 new guys on at any given time and the one on one flight exp will help them!
Pook u know ive been at this game along time! and i know u grow tired of solving the problems everyday so can u bring my idea into the senate for approval or if it can even be done! i truely feel this would best for the community as a whole!

Raveen when do u see only 1 newb ever ,cmon dont be the stick in the mud,,, see the possibilities this might hold for alleg as a whole, your dooming ideas b4 they can be discussed and not really giving anything a chance to help,,,, if you got a idea on how to stop this madness post it. as far as i can see you have only showed negative output, how about some positive input on how to break this problem, and asking people to be nicer to one another aint gonna happen man!Raveen wrote:QUOTE (Raveen @ Jan 30 2007, 02:12 PM) Newbie logs on
Sees Newbie server and joins
Newbie is the only player
Newbie leaves forever
...
Profit?
(or in other words, that won't work unless the number of newbies joining Alleg rises by several orders of magnitude).
btw when has alleg ever been for profit! u wanna see this place die put a monthly on it!

I like the idea of a "newbie"-server, if there were sufficient newbies to populate the server, as Raveen said. However, that problem could (partially) be solved by allowing 1 newb to putter around on his own without needing 2 people on a server at once. Newbs could learn a lot about comming by having an empty server.
