Explosion at Boston marathon
There was an interesting article in Scientific American recently that showed that a gun is 22 times more likely to be used to harm (eg. violence, crime, suicide, etc) than to be used in defence. I'd link it but you need a subscription to read full articles. Not strictly relevant but interesting.
