How did this thing play in the end?

I'm guessing it is probably long gone again by now, or are there still servers up?

Star Citizen? Hilariously it's still in Alpha and isn't out yet. Still gets regular updates and has a huge team working on it, but clearly they've figured out a business model where they've monetized the development phase of the game and have 0 reason to ever release a full game.
