One thing is that the experience gap is so large, it feels like against certain players that I can't do anything, be it fight or run, I just die instantly xD Still fun, and shows I have a lot to learn
Knowing when to run can be a big part.If you save kb (points you earn by killing/not dying), you become stronger for the next fight.

edit: I guess I made this account a longer time ago than I thought o.o Either way, love the game
Welcome back!

hello
I play as oreo.
I played when game first came out using dial-up and joystick.
I stopped after months when combination of dial-up connection and game freezes due something with my computer caused me to give up.
I had some facility with game, but could never buy a win in a dogfight (mebbe stray kill when opposing player died of laughter at my efforts, I guess. other players maybe had cable as well).
Even during that interval, I did notice a large drop-off in player numbers.
But despite the relative complexity and steep learning curve, I remembered the game fondly.
So I recently saw a listing of top 100 free games. Alliegence was not on it. But I remembered the game and googled it. So here I am (again).
I do not have complete command listing.
I put into game the "steady hands" keymap - it seemed to offer efficiency, and enabled the mouse joystick.
The steady hands keymap does not seem to have functioning match speed, autopilot and ripcord commands (or mebbe it is just me). Other commands seem to work.
Anyway, if u see me in game, I try to choose the better team because my contributions will be minimal. Also I need to spend some time puttering around with game, and there is no other location to play it aside from an actual game. I will learn more by doing this than by reading reams of information which just evaporates in my older brain (it needs more ram I guess). I will get to reading the wiki after playing a bit, the information will "stick" better once I have acclimated myself to the game. Have patience with me and always allow extra lead time so I can get organized for any task requested.

Welcome back Oreo! I also remember playing this game on dial-up. Turret gunning was my thing back then. I loved to gun.
I'm not familiar with using a joystick with Allegiance so I can't help with the keymap you are using. To map your keys manually, press esc-g-c in-game.
There aren't many big games during weekdays anymore so that's a good time to get acclimated. We have events on Saturdays and Sundays, check out the
'News' forum for event postings. Also we use the voice client
Mumble. Address: mumble.rtsquad.org. Using mumble is a great way to get trained and to keep up on things.
Like us on Facebook too!
Anyways, welcome back again I hope to see you in-game soon.

Hey Everyone! I'm kind of new. I used to play allegiance a couple years ago; however, it's been so long I probably haven't retained any of my skills. Anywho, hopefully i'll see you in game! (If people actually still play this game, that is.)

Hi all,
Well someones saw me struggling in few games yesterday

.
I had played alleg a little bit some six years ago, and I will try to get back into it.
I must say that I was a bit worried to see so little activity during the week, but was pleased to see more than 30 players online yesterday... Then the game is still not dead.
I am still struggling to find back an effective keymap, and still need to (re)learn most of the game, but I will try to fly online from time to time, as long as my family life and work allow it

.
Regards from Oslo.

Welcome Shomke
Friday nights, Saturday & Sunday afternoons are the best times to be on-line for a game.

Check the wiki for keymap mods.
