Living at home with a full-time job (and parents who understand you're an adult) is awesome in comparison to paying rent every month. I saved crazy amounts of money when I lived at home; it allowed me to buy and renovate my house.

Yeah I think it was taken completely out of context, I was kind of telling him in my way that no one notices good intentions about the place. The friendly advice from TB I wasn't sure why but I figured I just didn't have all the facts. I just decided to, for once keep my fingers shut.

I can imagine. I would say I spend roughly 1/3 of my income on rent or housing related expenses.

Sadly even on my own my mom still thinks I'm a little boy - "is it raining there? don't forget your coat!" "have you been eating well - no cookies before dinner" blah blah!

Wait till you've got kids too, it goes to "Are the kids alright?", "I haven't seen the grandkids for ages!"*, "Are they eating well?" "When they coming over?"

You become merely the custodian of their grand-kids between visits.......
