You don't need to shorten your name, people will do it for you.

For example, my ingame name is TheSambasti, but if someone needs something from me it's either sambasti or sam. If your ingame name was SilentCookie, people would probably call you silent for short.

Or cookie. We all call TheSambasti samby, Shibbster became Shibby, d1g1t4l(something) became digitab, Correct became IB (I'm joking on that one, IB was IB before he was Correct), broodwich became brood... a long standing tradition of lazy people play this game

Lazy? They're called nicknames fool, I wouldn't go around in real life calling my friend Sir Maximillian Bronsford-Charlesworth XIII that, I'd call him Charles (in a Juggernaut accent).

cashto became cash, despite the fact it's only two extra keystrokes to spell the damn thing correctly. (That's okay, because no one can pronounce the last syllable right anyways).
