Grim you fail to see that everyone has an opinion, Personally i hate giga lxy ints, i'd rather have an int with more fuel over a lead indicator i dont need, and the ability to rip which i dont need in any other interceptor. Yes it has less hull, but i'd trade the hull for the speed you can get out of a giga heavy interceptor.

Less hull
Less fuel
A 20 second rip time, good for very little (sorry, boosting in a dogfight > getting home easily)
A lead indicator that throws me off more than it helps (others may like it, I hate it)
The great feeling that you wasted 500 dollars that could have been spent on research (or rebuilding that giga base that just got galved)
Wow, giga ints rock!
Grim -- shut the $#@! up. I'll admit I'm wrong when someone gives me a good reason why giga ints don't blow ass. I don't have a problem with exp getting a nerf relative to the other techpaths, I just think that the nerf should come in the form of buffs to Sup and Tac.

lxy ints as previously stated have quite a bit of hull (825 before faction modifier and then hull GAs instead of the non-lxy version of std 750 hull).
they have better gun mounts (which as i said, is the reason i get them)
they can rip, which can be useful. (one could argue, that a normal int has to boost there and back, where as a lxy only needs to boos there, so the fuel used for getting back isn't needed so it can cope with the loss of fuel - note here i've never had any problem with how much fuel the lxy int has)
lead indicator *meh*, you're so close you don't really need it, but can be useful to get initial bearings. just ignore it once you start shooting (or even before if you've got a feel for how mini flies).
lxy ints actually have a higher scan range too.
normal giga ints suck a bit because their mounts suck.
but really, if you can honestly say that people can't get kills with giga ints, then you can say they suck.
i think lowering all int's fuel (except lxy as it's already lower) would make things better because it would make ints harder to fly, people seem to prefer making things harder in allegiance, its why we play with low money instead of out9, why we choose IC instead of IC rookies

Apo I'll bet you a case of beer that if we copy a giga lux int's EXACT performance characteristics into the IC heavy int then TB will never notice it playing IC. He doesn't like the ripping and lead indicator but wtf does that have to do with it's int capabilities? He was bitching about how they suck hull wise when they got a whole 12 points less hull /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> I don't mind peeps discussing whether ints needs to be nerfed or not but it would be nice if they got their facts straight before they made silly remarks /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Oh you
can get kills in anything. I
can ram your ass in my freighter... I just know that when I go out a-whorin', a giga int is not my choice of pimp-sledge.

You know, I never understood why a supposedly defensive ship like the interceptor has medium hull. It is supposed to have good firepower, stripped down (no missiles/mines), accelerates and tops out faster then any other ship while being more maneuverable, yet all other small ships which are supposed to be clunkier and slower have a much weaker hull?
Can we at least experiment with making Interceptors light hull? Would the universe implode?
You would see less super vets rush to a miner guarded by 2 or 3 figs and a nan and successfully kill all of them with the miner (if there is any ammo left). I think that might be the goal here. Force a side to actually use teamwork and hunt miners in packs like Stealth fighters (whose primary purpose is miner killing).
Should one of the focus's of this core be to reduce individuality while promoting teamwork? Discuss?

I think so /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

As exp stands, for me it represents the last bastion of Haloism in this game. Maybe the people insisting on keeping the uber whoreship of individualism should do some soul searching?

I've been saying that for a long while too. The only real reason for having a big amount of hull like that is to maybe survive to get close enough to hit a bomber. Other than that, I only find Dreg int hull to be the only thing balanced about the field of ints. Maybe they should be a little more difficult to hit in compensation by giving them a smaller ship size/hitbox. Tho they aren't in CC, it's worth nothing that Nix certainly enjoys an advantage due to the narrow profile.

I like what I'm seeing here at the end of the thread. Int's are the individual hero's weapon at the moment, and many of us would like to see them focus on close in station defense. Ints should be good at intercepting bombers (and killing their nans) but not much else. At the moment the interceptor is the space superiority fighter of Allegiance. A prowling heavy int with PP's is the tiger in our forest.
More signature. There is no reason for an interceptor to be stealthy.
Less fuel. Again, why should one be able to boost 2 sectors away to kill miners or intercept cons. Hitting 2 sectors away is a fighters job.
