Cool, a post that's on topic /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />
Yeah, I still prefer to fly with FF on. Hopefully people will give it a shot every now and then. Heck, it would be pretty neat to have the occasinal Zone game be played with FF on, to give the community a feel for the difference. With Zone games, there would be proper early warning of the fact too.

hockey1015 wrote:QUOTE (hockey1015 @ Oct 4 2007, 04:04 AM) actually, it's been proven to be a bug, with proposed fixes, but hasn't been hashed out yet. basically, the actual model of the door is screwed up, with some specifics about it not fitting the base model. Terralthra has submitted what was thought to be a fix, but no such luck as of yet. There are some docking techniques that minimize the screw up possibilities, but it is still very possible to bounce off violently.
Right. I must have been intuitive or lucky then, since I only bounced once in the whole game. I hope it get's fixed soon.

FF always seems to cause me more pain then the enemy team. It hurts when you fight pass waves of voobs and are boosting through an aleph at 300mps only to go smack on a rock like thing 100m from the other end of the aleph. Oh wait, asteroids arn't supposed to spawn that close to alephs, the rock like thing turns out to be a friendly carrier.
BTW Zamargo, can you be newb/newcomer/newblet cause I'm the newbie /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Sure. It's not supposed to be on because it would give an advantage. It's supposed to make the game more challenging in ways that make sense /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
The occasional allied ship collision is very much in the spirit of old school Sci-Fi / Aircombat movies afterall. I'd love to see that happen. It just means you were playing the role of the luftwaffe baddies. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Yes, because the game isn't challenging enough when you have to do your job and the job of the 10 newbs/voobs that are circle flying.

LOL, ive actually done that before and not even realized it my second day playing. I was experimenting with how my speed affects my actual turn rate (g indicator) while basicly doing flips. It was in the conception that i could possibly adapt it into combat somewhere around the point where im at a stand still (- 30mps) because ive made a dodging mistake or something. Unfortunately, the guns on these ships turn so fast i dont think trying to pull a sharp turn around an opponent will do much good because the whole time im facing space trying to manuever somebody is attempting plowing shots into my ship.

LOL!! dude... you totally missed a chance to utilize one of those right there man! If you really want to get technical there are 2 different punctuation mistakes in that single sentence first being the comma after Also Zamargo. If it wasn't for the concatenation of the symbols inside quotes purely because you cant itemize symbols in a correct grammar format they would have required a semicolon then a comma separated list and I still think a colon is wrong there also should be a comma after end quotes before sentence picks up again! LOL /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />:P:P:P

I haven't actually seen all
that much of aimless flying in circles. Most people seem to be at least vaguely "with the program". Of course my own situational awareness is awful because of the long break in gaming. I have a hard time quessing where, for instance, our bomber is jumping when they just say stuff like follow me - ripcording, and I have to spend long seconds seeking the bomber symbol on the minimap. Same when the ship I'm escorting and/or nanning docks and launches out from another base. It's propably obvious to my fellow teammates where they are going, but I've seen no indications of it in the chat.
I'm sure it's just me being rusty, or parhaps the fact that I don't have teamspeak2 set up yet.
