i agree with amsunaakage, there's no need to beet up newbies in the newbie thread, at least wait for someone to make their own topic before ranting them to death.

Also, from the POV of an outsider it could easily appear that we are purposely excluding Linux users, ASGS wasn't created to exclude them, but it doesn't change the fact that it does.

Considering that we've finally got allegiance to run reliably and reproducibly under Linux (shameless plug here), this isn't the time to be scaring off the Linux crew.

2. Random Carebear X's guide to being a good noob in Allegiance

It would save LOTS of time and post count inflations, as well as weed out the...undesireables.

when i started tryin to play, i got to a screen that said all this stuff about welcome to allegiance and signcall reset among other things, and thenan auto update started, it got near the end of it, then logged me out and now when i try to log back it comes upwith a message that looks something like this:

I've actually played before but never have really got around to making a post . . . or a forum account at all . . . I'll be changing that right now though.

Anyhow my name here (Forum I.D.) is SilentCookie42 but you can find me in the game under the name SC42. I shortened it so people can call on me easier. Hope that helps
