Yeah what the $#@! is the point of this anyway?

The only thing I can think of is that it's supposed to resemble a torpedo bomber, like theSBD-Dauntless that does carry a turret gunner. However, the intention for that plane is not to dogfight by any means and it's main guns used for things like strafing ground targets.

Just an aside... in the same vein, other lxys, I dont' see why hvy scouts should have a turret. That has never made sense to me either.

Now if someone came up with a mini-gs ship called the fighter destroyer, now that I can understand. The Me-110 was a fighter destroyer, but failed at that task in the same way GS fails.

There is some precedent for scout aircraft having turrets - early in WWI. Though this was mostly because they didn't have interrupter gear yet, so scout planes would have a gunner with a machine gun that swung around.

If you want to compare spaceships in Allegiance to real-life aircraft as a standard of sense-making. :P

Those turrets would have a point if they were full size ACs.
If figbees do get changed (I'm still happy with them as they are now) we could consider:

a) Full AC turret

b) More fuel, but light booster only, capping at about 110 or 100 mps. Reasonable (not too high) sig with missiles down.

c) If they are too tough, up the scale a little, maybe starting with the 10% that was shaved off most of the figs.

***

This way one could try to use them better in a non TP2 run, while nerfing them slightly for the TP2 drop.

Because Dis2 has too high of a damage modifier against heavy hull?

Sorry, couldn't resist ;-) ;)

$#@! I knew one of the forums that I frequented couldn't handle a full wink...

"You have been recruited by the Star League to defend the frontier from Xur and the Ko-Dan armada."

Keep the scouts, please.

The Starfighter craft is obviously a Lux scout! Even a medium grade ex-scout-ho like me can dominate a sector with one, given a good gunner.
(also this stuff is so getting deleted by spidey :hide: )
